Ok to good. The story line had great potential.
But was cut short.
yes it's a short story, but to make it a SS it was rushed, Derek is gone for 8 yrs left no note, nothing, breaks Cameron's heart, comes back and within a couple hours their in bed, then a major secret is revealed and nothing.. (Cameron even asks a question, which we never hear the answer) Then we jump to 3 years later in the epilogue, which is mainly centered around Derek's brother kids. Which was really cute. But not much on the
It's a 4th of July barbecue party and Cameron Graham is ready to celebrate it with his business partners, husband/wife Matt and Erin. The last thing he expects is the return of his former lover, Derek Taylor (Mark's older brother), who has been M.I.A for the past 8 years. It is clear that Derek still carries the torch for Cam, but can Cam forgive Derek for the missing 8 years -- especially when Derek seems to still keeping a secret?

This story starts slightly humorous -- I grin widely when I read
While this had great potential, I felt it was unrealistic. Derek and Cam are partners, until Derek just ups and disappears. Eight years later, he shows back up, and there is hardly a murmur from Cam. Your love disappears with not so much as a note, returns and offers no explanation, is still keeping secrets and you just hold hands, have sex and watch fireworks? Lost respect for Cam at that point.

Sweet story and a good idea, but it was really just too short for the issues brought up in this story.

Sparklers Lit by Nicole Dennis was a wonderful super short story 68 pages available from Silver Publishing. The story takes place over the 4th of July. It's about the rejoining of love and family. This is the fourth story I have read by Nicole and I’m loving her work more word by word.

A story is allowed to be short but it's not allowed to be incomplete! After reading Family Found I was so psyched to read abt Cam and Derek and this is what I get! ? It would have been great if it was finished! I'm so bummed....
A sweet short story with some very hot sex. A great afternoon read.
