Even for those who don't usually read romance, this one's worth a look. Ms. Smith captivates her reader with a great story and vivid characterizations, artfully dealing with some important, timeless issues along the way. She drops a really fine romance storyline into an obviously well-researched historical setting. Cromwell's and his Roundheads' rebellion against the English monarchy is very interesting and certainly adds to the story.
I like her writing style.
