If you are looking for a short devotional book for children that really packs a punch, look no further. Faith Tydings does a remarkable job of teaching children the wonderful truth of God’s unfailing presence with us in a way that they won’t soon forget. I really like the way little yellow stars are used as a constant reminder of the greatness of God and the presence of God.
What a wonderful way to teach young and old alike that God loves us and will never be too far away from us that we can’t...more

What a wonderful children's book. The author, Faith Tydings, does a beautiful job in telling a story through a young child's eyes about yellow stars she sees. She steps the reader through learning the signification for the yellow stars the child learns from her mother. An interesting way to be reminded of Jesus all the time as your child grows in their family home. Which is carried over in a traditional manner at Christmas and Easter time. I enjoyed the comfort of the story and I will be reminde...more

This book is absolutely adorable! From the cover and interior design by Elizabeth Mason to the illustrations by Katie brooks, this children's story is a refreshing read. Even though my children are adults and my grandchildren are teens, A Little Yellow Star captivated my heart and brought back the significance of many yellow stars in my life. A lovely read for all ages.

Teaching children the concept of faith can be difficult, but Faith Tydings manages to do just that in a simple and entertaining way. The Little Yellow Star is the story of a mother who paints stars all over the house in an effort to remind her children of God's love. When her young son asks why; she explains that although we can not always see the stars above we know that they are there. The same idea applies to God the Father. Although we can not see him his love is always there!

Do you remember the little gold stars that your teacher would put on a chart for reading or good attendance?
Faith takes those little yellow stars a step further in her Children’s book A Little Yellow Star. The author tells of a child who has a yellow star painted in her room that she remembers always being there, and as she grows she realizes there are more yellow stars painted throughout the house. She asks her mother about the stars and their significance....more

Memorable Inspirational Lesson

A Little Yellow Star is a great story to explain to children the presence of a caring God even when we can't see him. My three-year-old son really identified with the little boy character. His eyes lit up when his train table was mentioned and their yellow star on top of the Christmas tree just like ours. Truly an enjoyable inspirational teaching tool for children.

In the story "A Little Yellow Star" author Faith H. Tydings shares a timeless message in a heart-warming, uplifting way... Just like the light from a star extends across the universe, so does Jesus' love. We may not fully understand where it comes from and how it reaches us, but God's love is with us each and every day. A lovely story for readers of all ages.

It's truly a pleasure to have read Faith's "A Little Yellow Star". The illustrations are great, and what I like most is the message that God is everywhere. What a sweet message to teach a child that even when times seem tough, we can have a knowing of the presence of a Higher Being that we cannot necessarily always see.
