Jonathan is in Rome on his way to take care of a sad, yet beautiful, duty. When he meets handsome Davide outside of a bar there is instant mutual attraction and they spend a bit of time together before going their separate ways. Jonathan is thankful to the handsome and sexy Davide for giving him a bit of happiness so he can face the coming day.

Thinking he'd seen the last of Davide the previous night Jonathan is surprised and then grateful for the other man's surprising offer of company

This story happens in the course of two days -- so the ending is not HEA, instead it's a possibility. For me it has that similarity of possibility like the movie "Before Sunrise", minus the heavy psychological conversation :). Still, it's a wonderful story in the backdrop of Rome, when Jonathan Lynch, a 34-year-old History Teacher went there to fulfil a promise, and while there meet a sexy Italian, Davide, who helps him saying the goodbye he needs to do.
Very nicely written story about a man traveling abroad to fulfill a promise. The story takes place over two days, so the ending is a hopeful HFN.
Beautiful story - but, honestly, too short. I'd love to read a sequel...
