I'm so happy my library finally got a copy of this charming story of a young witch who goes out looking for something to explore--after all, she is a *curious* little witch--with her adorable striped tabby cat. When she arrives at a house that still has its lights on one night, she can't help but take a peek through the window--but when she falls through and her broom is broken, she isn't sure anyone in the house will be able to help her. Especially when the musical witch, the baking witch, and ...more

This is an adorable book about the "Curious Little Witch" who's flying around on her broomstick at night. But when she falls through an open window and breaks her broomstick, she must search the house to find someone to fix it.

What she finds is a series of witches who each have something specific they do - the musical witch, the cooking witch, etc.

Each page is a delight - especially visually! I love the cat on every page, and all the animals in the one scene, especially. What's really fun is th

Ha! Specialist witches! I loved that!

I know this story is supposed to be gentle and sweet and a not scary witch story, but I think some children might find it a bit sinister the first time they hear/read it, given that on every page Lizzy the curious witch encounters someone who could be a scary witch, and is in a new situation in a strange place with only her adorable, also curious, cat for company. (I’ll bet I might be the only Goodreads’ reviewer who sees it this way though.) Lizzy and her or

I absolutely adored the illustrations in this book and would have particularly loved them as a child. I like the all female cast of characters (all witches with different talents) and find this empowering for a young girl to read. I believe young boys will enjoy the book as well. What draws me most to Lieve Baeten's work is all the rich details in her books. It's like a game of "I spy" -- children will see new details every time they read it. There are tiny little insects, faces on slippers, and ...more

I really enjoyed this book's format. There's a flap on each page and when the reader lifts it she sees the next part of the story. Good for making predictions.

A witch, who is an engineer, how could I not love this book! Cute illustrations, an interesting adventure through a strange house of witches. I will definitely try to find Lieve Baeten's other Little Witch books!

LOVED this one. The energetic, curious, active "little witch" crashes into a house with her broomstick. She then wanders through the house, trying to find a witch who can help her fix the broomstick - there are all sorts of witches there: a Kitchen Witch, a Music Witch... Finally she finds the bad-ass Tinkering Witch, who is wearing overalls and high heels, and who easily fixes her broomstick - by giving it rocket power! Only the Belgians could come up with a book this awesome. It was so nice to ...more

Superb illustrations! Loved all the little details...like finding the cat and mouse, counting the crows and bats, and trying to find the spider's web pattern in almost all the pages. Fun! At first I wondered about where the stairs were but at the end of the story, I saw the layout of the house and then went back to find where the ladders were in the pictures...more search and finding.

Cute, straight-forward story. I enjoyed exploring this book.

The curious little witch has to investigate an old house that is lit up in the night. She accidentally breaks her broomstick and must find a witch to fix it. She explores every floor of the house, each containing a witch her specializes in something, but will she find the witch who can fix? Wonderful illustrations, with plenty of detail will have little ones investigating each page! Loved it!

I thought this book was adorable and a lot of fun, but Rowan is unconvinced. She sat through the whole thing and helped turn the pages, but she wasn't as excited about it as she is with most other books.

Delightful illustrations show a little witches travels through a house on a search for someone to fix her broken broomstick. She finds no help from the Music Witch, the Kitchen Witch, or the Bedroom Witch. But the curious little witch is persistent and she keeps looking for help.

Fun story about a little witch who breaks her broomstick as she curiously looks inside a house. As fate would have it, this house is home to some witches. Which witch will have the talent to mend her broken broomstick?

3.5 stars Adorable illustrations, okay story. But why wasn't anyone upset that she was close enough to their window that she fell through? Rounding down for that.

This book was full of lots of character's and therefore lots of witchy voices for your story telling. Enjoy reading this book to some little ones.

The illustrations are well done, with details small and fascinating. A worthy read, very glad my local library had a copy available.
