As the successful head of marketing for her family's Napa Valley winery, Sophia Giambelli has never failed. However, her grandmother Tereza throws Sophia for a loop when she announces the merging and shuffling of responsibilities for the three family holdings.

Sophia must teach marketing to Tyler MacMillan while she must learn wine making from Eli. To make matters worse and more complicated, Tereza announces that David Cutter, an outsider, is the new CEO. As Tyler and Sophia squabble over pr...more

I liked the book because it's not formula Roberts; it's a complicated story with a large cast and the plot unravels in a way that manages to not be too predictable. You know early on who the villain is, but the mystery is in his motivations and who he talks into being his accomplices. My only complaints: I didn't really like Sophia that much, which is a problem given she's the primary heroine. She was... abrasive. It's possible to be a strong woman without being bitchy, you know. I thought also ...more

Not only is this book set in the romantic vineyards of Venice and the Napa Valley of California but it has the perfect blend of mystery, murder, romance, and sex. Amidst the backdrop of a centennial, Jeremy DeMorney is masterminding the demise of the company by upseting employees, family members or not. This family, albeit somewhat mafioso, is headed by the matriarch and Sophia, Tyler, Eli, and the list continues. The romance between Sophia and Tyler is palpable...you see this love/hate relat...more

It would be a sad day for me NOT to give Nora a high rating. I recently read "You can't bottle fulfillment, but Ms. Roberts certainly knows how to put it on a page", I've never heard a review more accurate. She has the talent to take you there, at/in the place she wants you to be. I'm never disapointed in one of her worlds; this book was no different. She actually gave us two romances in one, both loves as strong as the other. As an inspiring writer I could only wish to one day be a qu...more

I wanted to like this book since it's set in the Napa Valley not that far from where I live. But the descriptions of the surroundings were all wrong. For instance she had it snowing at Christmas (and it wasn't mentioned as an unusual event) so for one the weather wasn't realistic for what we see. The plot was okay and I enjoyed the overall story. It's just that I was disappointed that she didn't make me feel like I was in Napa, or even this area of Northern California. with her descriptions.

This book was a little difficult in the beginning. You meet so many characters in a short time period I found myself going back to remember who they were talking about when we met them again. This is an almost 500 page book and I didn't figure out everything till the mystery was solved at the end. My mouth agape <ZING> ok I didn't see that one coming. I throughly enjoyed this book and didn't expect to even though Nora Roberts is a favorite of mine.

The pending merger of the MacMillan and Giambelli vineyards creates a maze of betrayal, blackmail, and murder for family heirs Sophia Giambelli and Tyler MacMillan.

Nora Roberts continues to get better and better. Something for everyone--interesting setting, romance, suspense, and likeable characters. Similar to her "oxymoron" titles (Hot Ice, Carnal Innocence, etc.) Highly recommend.

I really liked this book because of the tough heroine Sophia...she's not a typical 'delicate' NR lead, she's fiery and doesn't just melt at the hero's touch, she initiates it herself! Love the humorous exchanges between the lead couple...the supporting couple David and Pilar weren't bad either. Loved that it took place in Napa, a place I loooove to visit!

When this book starts out there are so many characters I had to keep flipping back to remind myself who was who. All I wanted to do everytime I opened the book was sit down w/ a glass of wine and read. And then when I was done I wanted to go to Napa Valley. Love hearing about the family owned vinyard and of course all the drama that unfolds.

Light and amusing, but I could've done with less of the murder mystery subplot and more of the daily workings of vineyard at the center of the book. The secondary romance between Our Heroine's mother and the new head of operations was far more entertaining that the maneuvering of the ostensible main characters.

I throughly enjoyed this book. I would have read it in one read if I hadn't attened a wedding but that would have been rude.
I did find some pieces a bit dull but found the book rather interesting and enjoyed the mixture of family and business that Ms Roberts includes with this book.
Thumbs up.

This was the first book I picked up to read soon after I moved. I was immediatly drawn to the strength of the main character and how she was abl;e to be vounerable and keep her witts about her. I will always think of this book with a new love of Nora Roberts and more importantly a new love of reading.

This is the first Nora Roberts book I ever read. After giving my Mom & Sister a hard time for such "trashy" reading they finally convinced me to give one a try and I became hooked - now whenever I need a quick easy read that is purely for entertainment value I open a Nora Roberts book!

I can't tolerate many "romance novels", at least not for long, and definitely not back-to-back reads, but I liked this one. Her writing style is intriguing enough, and her stories are always a good blend of mystery with the sappy stuff, which makes them go down alot easier.

This book was not one of Nora Roberts best in my opinion. The ending was a let down (not the usual action packed ending she usually provides for most of her books). However, the characters were believable and she can tell a story about family bonds like no other author I know.

I about peed myself with laughter. This is the first and only romance novel I have ever read. Great plot...seriously great plot. If she had developed the plot and the characters more (beyond the sexual) it would have been a great book. Two stars simply because it was funny.

The mystery in this one is very good! She does give quite a lot detail about the day to day workings of a vineyard--sometimes a little boring. I did like the characters and the romance, however I did grow tired of Sophia being so bullheaded through the entire book.

A nice light read. The Giambelli family is into wine, ok they have a wine empire. But unfortunately there is a very bad guy out to get them. This book has love, family, Italy, murder, mystery and more. Classic Nora Roberts.

Roberts was recommended to me by a co-worker. I didn't want to start a new series yet, so opted for this book that wasn't in one. I ended up really enjoying it. It has a love story but wasn't some cheesy romance novel.

Conflict of styles and job descriptions sets the protagonists against each other, but chemistry and danger brings them together against the background of Napa Valley. Another Nora Roberts hit for romance.
