This book has two chapters on Afghan women. The authors of the chapters on Afghanistan attempt to make generalizations about the entire female population of the country. Their sources of data do not suffice to explain in what situation all Afghan women live in and how the war legacies have been affecting them since the 1970s. Though, if one is interested in reading about how gendered cultural norms, which suppress Afghan women, were imported from the refugee camps in Pakistan, s/he should read c ...more
