Even though I still struggle a bit with the bloodlust (but no vampires) at the heart of Lyon's witch mythos which makes an unmated witch-hunter struggle not to kill a witch, I really did think that this was the best of Lyon's series to date and ended up really liking the story once the hero forms enough of a connection to the heroine that he's not thinking of killing her everytime he's in her presence.

Both leads Phoenix and Ailish are good, with poignant back stories that have turned them into h

Loved Night Magic. Phoenix is my favorite Wing Slayer Hunter so far! Can't wait for Key's story!!
Night Magic was quite a good book. Lyon did a good job of bringing the world and characters to life. I liked the characters, felt invested in them, and wanted them to triumph. The sex scenes were very well done :)

The thing is, I think this book could have been even better, for three reasons.

1. Although a good enough writer, Lyon struggles with show-don't-tell. I see a lot more potential if she would work on this.

2. The ending felt a bit clumsy to me.

3. Magic, magic, magic, MAGIC. He felt it, sh

Jennifer Lyon continues her exciting world of witches and witch hunters in Night Magic with the leather wearing, motorcycle riding Wing Slayer Hunter, Phoenix. Weaving a story of destiny and magic, Lyon provides readers with non-stop action and suspense. Night Magic was another one that kept me on the edge of my seat, because just when you think the main couple of Phoenix and Ailish were going to make it to a HEA, another twist was thrown at you! Taking readers on a roller coaster ride of emotio ...more

I'm a big fan of this series but I have to say, Jennifer Lyon reached deep inside her characters and told a story that is both heart-wrenching and romantic. Phoenix Torq is a man who cannot walk away from from a woman in trouble. Ailish is a blind witch desperate to break the bond her mother, a rogue witch, tricked her into on her sixteenth birthday. These two are thrown together for better or worse. When a book touches me so much I cry, it automatically goes on my keeper shelf. But when a book ...more
Basic Plot: Wing Hunter Phoenix and witch/siren Ailish must destroy the demon handfast that Ailish was tricked into before it kills her and destroys Phoenix's chance to complete his soul mirror bond.

This book seemed more focused than the first, and the romance had fewer irritating aspects. I find it amusing, though, that these big, tough hunter guys always turn into perfectly respectful, equality-minded romantic leads. It's a stretch for the imagination. I liked the concept of Ailish's character
These Wing Slayer Hunter books just keep getting better and better with each book. Jennifer Lyon writes such a great mix of action, suspense, and romance that i find them hard to put down...and this one in particular, was the most emotional one so far! I loved it! Anyone looking for a different spin on paranormal romances, involving witches should definitely give these a try.
What an amazing series, it seems that this series gets better as it moves on! Ailish and Phoenix were amazing together and te story of the sirenand te phoenix rising is so good. I also like that we get to still meet and interact with the other characters from the past two books. Good story, good action, read this series you will be hooked !!!!
Same story different title. Despite being formulaic and predictable I cared about the characters enough to see how their part in the story ends. What I would like to read next is the story of all three 'chosen' Wing Slayer couples take down Quinn Young and defeat the curse!
"Night Magic" by Jennifer Lyon. Book 3 in the Wing Slayer Hunter series.

I really liked this book. The legend of the phoenix rising from the ashes has always been one of my favourite and Jennifer Lyon has done a great job integrating that legend into this story about Phoenix and Ailish.

Phoenix does a lot of things. He's a hero protecting women from abusive situations, a Wing Slayer Hunter protecting earth witches from rogue hunters, and he fights the curse of wanting witch blood every day of his

The author has written another great installment of the Wind Slayer Hunters.

Phoenix Torq is a Wing Slayer Hunter who is on the edge of going rogue. He, like his fellow hunters, lives each day in hope of finding his soul-mirror; the only thing that will free him from the curse. His mother started hearing voices prior to her death; he has been hearing voices for the past 2 months – now he lives in fear that he will succumb to the voices like his mother did. Ailish Donovan has her own issues. She

Do you like reading about demons, witches, slayers, and gods? This is the book for you! The adrenaline packed ride is riddled with danger and high flying emotions.

Jennifer Lyon enchants and teases with her in-depth and soulful characters, while keeping you on the edge of your seat with action and eroticism.

Ailish – a blind, kick boxing witch – has to come home whether she wants to or not, but she’s ready for the battle that awaits her. What she isn’t ready for is Phoenix, and what he’ll mean to
With this book I think this series is hitting it's stride. We get to see a lot of the characters that we have come to love and get to know a couple more really well. I really liked that at the heart of this one was the mythology of the Phoenix. For some reasons I really love stories that deal with this rising bird from the ashes. I think it is because there is always the hint of forgiveness within the stories.

Phoenix is a Wing Hunter who chose for his bird his namesake. For the last few months h
Night Magic is the third installment of Jennifer Lyon’s Wing Slayer Hunter series. In this amped-up novel we meet Ailish Donovan, a blind earth witch who was bound, as a teenager, to a demon by her power hungry, rogue witch mother. For the past eight years Ailish has the victim of a nasty Catch-22: she has been desperately searching for a way to break the binding but no earth witch will help her because of the binding. Consequently, Ailish has learned little about her own magic in the intercedin ...more

‘Night Magic’ raised the stakes of the Wing Slayer novels. I have loved both of the previous novels in this series but this one truly blew me away. I mean her sexy witch hunters will keep your pulse racing and make your keep turning the page in any book but this couple was intense, and the story that went along with them was unlike anything I have ever read before.

I have yet again been brought to tears and not been able to put the book down, thanks to the brilliance that Jennifer puts into word
Ok, so I had been invested in this series ever since I read Soul Magic and loved it, then I read Forbidden Magic and loved it too. But then I was really skeptical about approaching Night Magic, because of Phoenix. The thing is I loved Phoenix, his acerbic wit, backhanded sarcasm and charm and he was one of my favourite of the guys, but I wasn't sure how he would write in romance. In my head, he would either be a jerk (which I

I don't think I can put into words just how much I've fallen in love with this series. I like the entire concept - I love the fact that the witch hunters each have bird tattoos that become the familiar of their soul mirror. I like that I was uncertain of exactly where the ending was going. I liked the characters - the blend of strength and vulnerability in Alish; the violence, but also the care and love of Phoenix. And I really liked the idea with the siren wit

I truly enjoy this series, it has enough of a different storyline, that I can't compare it to anything else. Most paranormal series are just the same old things written with a slightly different spin. Phoenix and Ailish were a great couple, a very interesting blend of the Phoenix legend. The first half of the book just kept me captivated enough to keep going. But by the second half, I was completely engaged and holding my breath for the end. Each Wing Slayer has a different predator bird tatooed ...more
this story is about Phoenix and Ailish. Ailish is the daughter of a demon witch and handfasted to a demon - nevertheless she is an earth witch.

I absolutely loved this book and both characters. the story is totally different than the first two and is interesting till the end. there is a lot of aciton in this book
both characters are really strong with their own insecurities and problems. the back stories are well done and you can feel how they were formed by their lifes. I loved it to read about
This is the 3rd book of this series. I am absolutely hooked on this. They have all been well written. Such a different take on the Paranormal Romance. Away from the genre of Vampires. Loved this take on Wing Slay Hunters the Guardians of the Earth Witches. I have gotten close to all the characters so far. I love how Jennifer Lyon keeps the characters coming back, so they are like a family. The romance scenes are steamy and just wow...

I do have to admit that this one is by far my most favorite. P

AILISH AND PHEONIX!!!!! Pheonix was a total badass in the last one, I wonder how AILISH was...
I thought the first book in this series was fantastic the second one was just ok, but this one I like as much as the first!

Phoenix is the wing slayer who lives to be the short term hero. He is emotionally stunted and fears intimacy due to mistakes in his past. Ailish is an earth witch caught between a rock and a hard place she has been promised to a demon and either she can break the bond or die.

I liked that Ailish and Phoenix both feel like they are not relationship material and how they come
This book is amazing. It is different from anything I have ever read. Granted I did read this book first even though it was the third in the series. I absolutely devoured this book. At first i didn't really like it until I actually focused on reading it instead of being a lazy reader. I got this book through a bookstore closing and I was really neutral about it. This was one of those don't put it down books. Ah the characters were amazing. I loved how Al didn't crap from anyone even though she w ...more

I actually own this book and received it on my birthday. And as if that weren't enough, I loved it.

In Night Magic, Jennifer Lyon reaches deep into her characters and bring theirwonderful story to life.
One of my favorite lines is: "So you speak the language of Chuck?" I know, but when I read this, I laughed out loud.
Thank you Jeen for the great read, I look forward to the next Wing Slayer Novel.
Don't wait to read it. I did. After receiving it, I finished another book that was a suffering to get

This book was amazing! Everything about this book sucked me in from the beginning and left me wanting more in the end. With a plot full of twists and turns, and characters that felt emotionally raw and real, I couldn’t help but stay up until the wee hours of the night just to finish. The progression from parts of the story that were emotionally heavy to parts that were light and humorous felt very fluid with no bumps or hiccups along the way. I will definitely read this book many times!
Like both books before this one , I really enjoyed it. I love the world Jennifer has created with the wing slayers and witches and the hunters..... I think what made this one a little more unique than what one normally reads is that the heroine in it is blind which makes her a bit more vulnerable if she lets it... though Ours here doesn't... she's a kick boxer, a witch, and very independent. I'm really enjoying reading this series and I'm definitely looking forward to the next two :)
I really like the world this series is set in. Liked the couple in this book and the climax even got me a little teary eyed. I had to drop it a half star for the 2 couples from the first two books in the series acting in ways that came off as way too out of character to me--enough to pull me out of the story. Still love this world and am looking forward to the next book at the end of May, but the writing wasn't as tight in this book.
I loved it!!!

Tentoraz bol ten koniec asi taký veľkolepý, ako autorka zamýšľala.
A story of witches and the hunters who will either protect them or kill them. This has quickly become one of my favorite series. This installment is by far my favorite so far. The intrigue, characters and ongoing revelation of the soul mirror concept is fun. I could not put this book down!
