Last October, I participated in the Blog Tour for Vampyre Kisses. I had not yet read the book but I’m happy to help promote new authors. The book definitely sparked my interest due to the Irish lore and well, Irish vampires, of course! Also, Salt Whip is a kick ass term for a witch killer. If Elizabeth came up with that one on her own, kudos!

The characters are likeable in the story. Faith is so easy going and sweet. She stood up for oth...more

It's been a while for me since my last book about witches and, so far, I think this is one of the bests. At the beginning of the story we have Faith, an average girl that was actually, quite bored of her life. A while ago she had lost her dad and, for some reason her mother seems to dislike her a lot (such a mother material here...). On top of that her job as a secretary is rather boring and the only light in her life is Mac, her best friend and old lover.

Soon al of this is about to change as sh...more

Vampyre Kisses is the first installment of "The Last Witch" series. This is a YA series that is suitable for teens.

I was asked to be a part of a tour for Book 2 so I figured I'd better read Book 1 *teehee* At first I thought that I had gotten in over my head, I didn't think I was going to like the book at all and I hate to give a bad review and I WON'T do a bad review as part of a tour! But I really didn't want to back out since the Author seems to be a genuinely nice person :)

I'm really glad...more

Ok stop me if you have heard this one before. Human girl meets mysterious guy who later turns out to be a vampire! Girl has some vague destiny, vampire has eating disorder, things get in their way of true happiness…lost you yet? Well none of this applies to “Vampyre Kisses”.

“Vampyre Kisses” is a new book from brand new author Elizabeth J. Kolodziej. Yes, Faith is a human girl with a destiny, but she is also a witch, the last of her kind. Trent is a vampire, but he is not your average brooding Ba...more

*Received this book from the author for review

This book gets 2 gnomes and a gnome hat out of 5 gnomes for having great characters but a plot that is just all over the place.

The prologue is entertaining because it puts forth an interesting mythology about witches and introduces the reader to Circe a goddess who many people will know from having read The Odyssey by Homer in high school.

I do like the characters in the story but found myself wanting more from them. Would love to get more...more

I read this book during a vampire/paranormal book marathon over the holidays. It was an enjoyable fast read. The main character was likeable and I enjoyed how she kind of got swept up into the whirlwind of the vampire and paranormal beings around her. It starts off with a foretelling of sorts (that's in the prologue), and then you delve into the first person dialogue of the main character named, Faith. Faith's voice was perky and entertaining and I must say I enjoyed reading her dialogue more th...more

Vampyre Kisses has been selected to join my list of favorite books. It's a wonderfull book that explains in detail the supernatural world of a witch, vampire, werewolf , shap-shifter and more. Elizabeth did an amazing job at painting a picture with words in her story. I loved the plot because it was funny, mysterious, and continued to surprise me. I loved Faith because of her sassy attitude and how she took control of situation although she has no idea why or how she has done so. I especially LO...more

Vampyre Kisses took me by surprise. I was expecting the typical tale of forbidden love between a mortal and a vampire (Thanks a whole lot, Twilight, for bringing that flood upon us). What I actually got was an in-depth story with detailed characters and a rich history; a world filled with vampires, werewolves, gods, slayers...and a witch. That's right, one witch. Witches have been eliminated but families live on, and the power is in the bloodline. If certain circumstances unfold in just the righ...more

When I first started reading Vampyre Kisses I wasn’t sure where it was going to go. I’ve read many vampire novels and they’ve lead me down the same road of mortal girl falls for immortal vampire and they live happily ever after. La, la, la.

I would like to say that Vampyre Kisses has enlightened me by showing me that there are other ways of intertwining immortals and supernatural love and also finding ways of complicating things.

Our main character Faith is best friends with her ex-boyfriend, Max....more

This was a very interesting story. I was immediately hooked once I started it. I didn't want to put it down. Each chapter left me hanging and wanting more. Vampyre Kisses was beautifully written. I love being able to see and feel what the characters do which I was able to do in this story. It was a well thought out story. The whole slayer ans salt whip aspect made the story even more interesting. Some Gods and Goddesses even made an appearance. That is always intriguing. I also loved how it swi...more

I met Elizabeth J. Kolodziej at this year's Book Blogger Convention and while I didn't realize at first that she was a novelist, I was happily surprised when she told me about her book. I am grateful to her for loaning me her last physical copy (as I've mentioned before, I'm a little less than excited about ebooks.) I will be purchasing my own copy to add to my keeper shelves as I loved it so much the first time, I know I'll want to read it again and again.

And now, my review. I have to say I lov...more

My Summary:

Faith really hasn’t been the same since the mysterious death of her father. She’s never felt comfortable around her mother so she avoids her. Living in her tiny apartment and not enjoying her job, Faith has lost sight of her dreams. Her father once told her she would cause others to have faith in her. He had such great dreams for her. Now all of that seems to have died with him. On a whim, she goes to a club with her best friend Mac. It’s not her normal thing but it’s been a while sin...more

First of all, I'm a huge fan of vampires. I have been ever since I was young and watched old reruns of Dark Shadows. So as you can imagine, I've read a good amount of vampire books. VAMPYRE KISSES was immediately my kind of book. Kolodziej managed to take put a fresh spin on the world of vampires. Trent was an instant favorite of mine. He didn't feel like a typical vampire or any that I've met through the Twilight series, the House of Night series, or the vampire books L.J. Smith introduced to t...more

I really liked “Vampyre Kisses” by Elizabeth J. Kolodziej. Overall, I would give it 4 STARS and recommend this book to Young Adult readers as well as Adult readers. I think the story line would satisfy both age groups. This paranormal novel has it all – vampires, werewolves, witches, gods, and goddesses. There was something in this book for almost everyone. I love paranormal books and all things supernatural so I de...more

I don't know about ya'll, but when I read a vampire/werewolf story I automatically begin comparing it to the Twilight series. Sorry fantasy authors ... blame Stephanie Meyers' success for this happening ... Vampyre Kisses was not immune to my comparisons.

I was pleasantly surprised in that the only similarity I noticed was the human-werewolf-vampire love-triangle. And, slight spoiler alert, yes, Faith chooses Trent, the vampire. But let's be honest, shall we? Who wouldn't choose a vampire over a...more

Really enjoyable storyline, with some nice twists and turns. I liked how the book was written from several viewpoints and it was labeled by chapter who's viewpoint it was. I found only one chapter to be a bit more repetitive than need be, but other than that, the split viewpoints were affective and added some extra interest. It starts out a bit uninteresting, but quickly picks up speed and moves quickly afterwards. I like the mix of supernatural beings. I was afraid that having so many "species"...more

Are you a fan of witches, vampires, immortals, werewolves, shape shifters, and all the other creatures that roam our planet, whether seen or unseen? If so, then join Faith and Trent as they search for two gems that have been stolen and that could cause war between vampires and werewolves, if the gems are not found.

Author Elizabeth Kolodziej’s debut novel, VAMPYRE KISSES, introduces us to Faith, a young woman who leads a boring life. When she meets Trent, however, her life and indeed her whole wo...more

Faith and Trent meet at a bar. She doesn’t know he is a vampire and he realises that he cannot take her to his master to feed on because there is something unusual about her. It turns out Faith has been ‘kissed’ by a vampire which means she is under the protection of a powerful vampire so no-one can feed off her or kill her. Then Faith’s witchery ancestry emerges and she accepts this hidden part of her identity and tries to connect with it.

The premise for this story is quite interestin...more

~ Has some spoilers!~

After rolling this novel around in my head for a couple of hours I have finally decided on 3 stars.

This novel is mostly about a woman named Faith who is bored with her life then she meets Trent and all sorts of interesting things start happening. First off being she learns of vampires and that she is a witch but not only that but the last witch.

When beginning this book I have to admit I had my doubts as it had a very rough start to me and the formal speech that we get from t...more

MY REVIEW
The cover is adequate, it gives the night time scene over the roofs of the buildings. The thing that grabs my attention and I would say attracts me to it is the beautiful red rose with blood dripping from it. The book begins at a slow to medium pace, in some parts I was kind of feeling "come on get on with it" then about a third of the way in the pace pics up and become faster with a deeper plot that totally hooks you in. The ending leaves plenty of scope for future escapades.

I got this book yesterday and I started it today. Already love the beginning!

I finished this book on Nov 12th. It was a great book. I love the world that Elizabeth created. What a wonderful mix of all paranormal beings that we love so much. I love that Faith, the lead character, jummps right into the knowledge of the paranormal world around her. I would personally do the same thing and therefore love her even more for this. The characters are strong characters with greatly detailed personalities...more

From the title, I can directly guess there will be vampire in this book.I thought it would give me a same legend with what I have got in some book with same genre. But I was wrong. Elizabeth gave me many different things about vampire, werewolf, slayer even witch with her familiar. It looks like opening book which is totally new. I like all her ideas. She wrote the details very well. Nothing stopped me from reading it to the last pages, although in first few chapters, there are some disrupting r...more

Vampyre Kisses is the debut novel from Elizabeth Kolodziej. This book was epic on multiple levels. What can I say, words escape me. The characters, the plot, the intensity, the dynamic scenes, just everything about this book will hold your attention which is important to me. From beginning to end I was just lost in the characters and their moments. It's different, it's fast going, and it left me demanding more!

The current popularity of vampire and werewolf literature has brought forward many new writers to the genre, amongst which Elizabeth J. Kolodziej, whose debut novel Vampyre Kisses takes much inspiration from bestseller favourites.

Vampyre Kisses follows twenty-something Faith, whose boring working life is turned upside-down when the mysterious Trent sets his sights on her. Their budding relationship brings her into contact with the other side of New York—a world of vampires, werewolves, and witch...more

Elizabeth's first novel was really interesting for me. It involved werewolves, shifters, witches, vampires, gods, and slayers! It was an intriguing mix that worked well together.

The author managed to mix folklore and legend into a modern story that still encompassed the history of supernaturals. I actually learned a few things that I was not familiar with!

I really enjoyed how each chapter was told from a one of the main character's point of view. It kept the story fast paced and interesting. Ove...more

Vampyre Kisses is the debut novel from Elizabeth Kolodziej. This book was epic on multiple levels. I read a lot of paranormal- there are no less than 4 series of vampire books on the shelf beside me as I type this- so I love to find an author who can create a world that isn't s cookie cutter replica of someone else's vampires/werewolves. Vampyre Kisses shows a great deal of research on Liz's part to make such a vibrant world that is so obviously entrenched in the myths and legends of real peopl...more

I really tried to like this book. Sadly it didn't work for me. There were many fragmented sentences and the dialogue (when there was dialogue) was not believable. Aside from that, the book is fragmented between the two main characters: Trent (the vamp) and Faith (the girl). This would work exceptionally well if done correctly. Sadly, every other chapter was just a repetition of the previous chapter with no new information or twist added. One chapter had the scene as told by Faith with the follow...more

I actually enjoyed this book more than I was expecting! I really liked the plot! I know that a lot of people tend to cringe at the word vampire now, myself included but honestly Vampyre Kisses is well worth the read! It was really different to a lot of other vampire books that I have read! It is a unique book with a great concept! The plot was fast paced so that I didn't lose interest and it was quite unique! I really enjoyed the characters as well! I really liked Faith! I thought that she embra...more
