This book is a study of several epigram writers in ancient Greece from its golden age on to the time of Nero. It doesn't however, cover the early Greek poets - the ones who were contemporaries of Homer & Hesiod, such as Archilocus or Sappho. Each chapter is devoted to a different poet, provides biographical information on them and then lists twenty to thirty of their poems along with commentary on each of those. Little confused between liking the poems or not, never read anything like it and they do take lots of digestion. But gives a clear view of incorporation of supernatural beings in reference to some of the life and death matters.
