Her Mountain Man

Ordinarily, Sierra Winston wouldn't be anywhere near a mountain, let alone a guy like Paul Teasdale who climbs as a career. This city girl knows the downside of the adventurous lifestyle all too well. Yet she's agreed to write an article about Paul, so here she is hiking in the wild--not her idea of fun.

In many books, the search to resolve a character's angst (aka internal conflict) is a subplot, maybe even a minor one. This book boldly steps up and makes it the main plot line, with the romance a subplot. It works quite nicely.

This was a 3-star, up until the ending. Paul was likeable, believable and I was rooting for him to get the girl. I didn't really find Sierra believable or likeable. Her insecurities really didn't ring true for me and and she was more irritiating than likeable. But overall, I was enjoying the story. It would have been bette ...more

Ehhhhhh...I'm gonna say this was a 2.5/3 star read that I knocked down to 2/2+ stars for flagrant violations of the English language. Distracting verb tense shifts, incorrect subject/object pronoun usage, malapropisms, and more. *shudder*

The story was generally decent for me, and there were some sweet moments. Unfortunately, the heroine came across as a megabitch at times, which I didn't care for (thanks for that New Yorker stereotype, folks). She was sending mixed signals, and her waffling over

"This book was so emotional. With Sierra coming to terms with her father's life and death and her love for Paul it was a wonderful book. Well worth picking up and reading." From a review posted by an eHarlequin.com member, read more Here.
