This is a great book for getting a quick look at the improbable world of the military. Some I had heard of before others I hadn't. Still it was fun reading about at times ridiculous antics of the military and not just our military. For a romp through military history this is a good place to start. If you do read this book especially checkout the section on movies about the military.

Fun little book but the vignettes are far too short to convey much knowledge. Also a list of best war films that includes "The Enemy Below" but not "Das Boot"....
