I assumed this book was going to be similar to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies in terms of the way it was written. It wasn’t. Instead of mashing two genres together, it leaves the original text exactly as it is and merely inserts new scenes or sentences throughout the book. This review may seem like I’m bashing the book because I’m an English major or because of what the book is on principle, but it’s really just because the book doesn’t work. It didn’t occur to me until I started reading it tha ...more

I would not want to read this version. It was pointed out to me in English class (many, many years ago) that the subtext to the original book is that Heathcliff and Catherine are probably half-siblings. Heathcliff is suddenly and inexplicably brought home by Catherine's father as an older foundling, but probably was her father's by-blow. There was good reason why Emily Bronte kept them apart.

I love this classic story! The insatiable desires these characters displayed in this version definitely add spice to the story. Instead of forming these parts of the story for oneself in the original book they are added to this story from someone's unrealistic imagination. This book is highly entertaining though!

If you are a fan of Wuthering Heights, which so many are, you may really enjoy this. I love Pride and Prejudice and had fun reading its Wild and Wonton version. But Heathcliffe and Catherine just didn't do it for me.(or any of the others in the house) -even with some pretty awesome sexyness thrown in.

To say I disliked this book is an understatement. It pained me to finish it. Had it not been for the additions of Annabella Bloom, I do not think I could have finished it.
