Probably the best book I have ever read about the effects of combat on a platoon of front line infantry soldiers in Afghanistan. The fear, stress, and uncertainty of living in an outpost that could be overrun at any minute is shown in the bonds created between the soldiers that at times is stronger than any family bond. Highly recommended
This is by far the best book I have ever read about a company and what it deals with in going to war. This book describes the stresses in combat, the relationships built, and the struggles it causes to soldiers psyche in great detail. A great book to try and understand some of the things that some troops must go through.
