When this book arrived at my library, I was so charmed by it that I carried it around the staff room, reading passages to anyone who would listen. Unusual for a knitting book, right? Well, this is one unusual knitting book.
The 26 patterns are absolutely adorable, but what makes this book really special is the fact that they all have stories. The creatures are split into groups, and each group photo is paired with an introductory description of who they are and what they're doing. The gnomes, hed...more

I love this book - I think this is the same book - mine has a different cover. All the sea creatures are so easy to knit and absolutely adorable.
It is easy to read and interpret even for a beginner that is learning on their own all the knit stitches from youtube videos (like myself).
I definitely recommend it - check out the title on Amazon for the updated cover has a big a rabbit and a bear on the cover. Ami Gaines is great and even nice if you email her directly with questions if you have any.

This book delivers on its promise and the patterns are easy enough that any beginner could get into amigurumi for the first time following them. I only wish there were more patterns for the amount I spent on the book ($22) AND I wish there were alternate size guidelines. For instance, say I wanted to make a 6" vs. a 4" owl. Otherwise, it's great. Glad I bought it.
