I read this book for a second time and found it very helpful with regard to framing arguments surrounding colonial policing. Sinclair, in this respect, is a bit of a pioneer as most books on colonial policing have focused on the 19th century. She solely looks at the post-WWII period. Unfortunately for me she entirely skips over the Arab Rebellion (1936-39) and focuses on the end of the Mandate. Still a worthy read.
