Movie Night (Black Dagger Brotherhood: Slices of Life)
by
J.R. Ward
So the question was asked on the loop what free time is like for the Brothers. And what the girls did at the mansion. And I figured I'd share this little Slice of Life with folks...

What's the point of this, really? Yes, I do understand that it's called slices of life and it's supposed to show the characters in everyday life, doing "normal" things the readers can identify with and relate to... Didn't work for me, I would at least like a pretense of a story in there. I guess, no let me rephrase that, I know I'm not a true fan and I believe this is intented for the real fans. Still, I've read the whole series except for the last novel so, since I'm tenacious (read stubborn),...more
Again I loved this short story, seeing the Brothers on a rare night in watching a movie was hilarious, Wrath falling asleep reminded me of my dad, he always falls asleep when watching movies at home. The whole throwing a beer can at V to get him to park his ass and watch the movie was funny as well, I'm guessing it occured before Butch's book considering their was no Marissa, Jane or Cormia there. Still it was a fun insight to a little downtime with the brothers!
This is a short from the Slices of Life on J.R. Ward's website. Basically it's a look into what the guys/gals do on their downtime. It probably takes place after Zsadist's book, Lover Awakened, given who was there.
I thought this was kind of neat. It's from the POV of J.R. Ward, I suppose, or some other third person, because it's talking about them and not in anyone in particular's mind. But, it was a cute little look into the guys off duty. Of course they would pick a Die Hard marathon. :)

Also enjoyed this little story too!
JR Ward is very comfortable in delivering this "Slices of Life" from the Brothers...
And it is nice to know they can just hang out all together and enjoy something as trivial as a movie night...
Although not sure we can call it trivial when you're sitting down on a couch with a room full of vampire warriors...!
Very entertaining! :)

One of my favorite parts of The Black Dagger Brotherhood: An Insider's Guide
Hahaha, I love vampire movie night! Rhage is still my favourite of the brothers. I assume this was written between book 3 & 4, since Butch is still one of the 'batchelors'.
Sinto que se esta história fosse contada numa narrativa, teria sido um mimo, mas como foi contada como um resumo, acabou por ser extremamente banal, se bem que interessante.

What fun, too many people piled into the Pit. Die Hard marathons, Chardonnay, Goose, Perrier, hors d'oeuvres, the Brothers and all the antics, and a few ever serving shellans. Need I say more.

Awesome glimpse into a quiet night at the Brotherhood mansion. My only complaint is that it's too short.

Found on Ward's website, this is a short piece from Dark Lover about Billy joining the Society and becoming a lesser. A little creepy and not as entertaining as the Brotherhood at all. Must admit, it's the vampires that make this book come to life.
Merged review:
A little too short and jumbled, but still a fun inside peek to the brother's relaxation. The POV is done differently than the usual BDB stories, so at first it threw me a little. Still cute to imagine and definitely fits the characters.
