What do you do when you have every choice in the world at your fingertips and no idea what you want?

Ever since Chris Bennett graduated high school a year ago, he's been trying to figure out what's next. His lifeguarding job has kept him busy, and in southern California, poolside isn't a bad place to be. But he's spent most of his time thinking about Seth, the former class...more

The first thing to say about this book is that the cover is slightly misleading, only slightly, but usually when there are three men on the cover of an m/m romance it suggests a m/m/m ménage. I have to admit, I picked up this book without reading the blurb properly and thought it was a ménage. It wasn’t. I wasn’t disappointed though, because this turned out to be a surprisingly great read. Why surprising? Read on to find out!

Unlike all his friends, Chris decided to take a year out after high sch...more

There are so many wonderful things I loved about this book, at first I was unsure about where the author was going but in the end it was written splendidly. For me this book was relatable on so many levels, the young characters, the feeling of being stuck in a place they want desperately to get out off, and also being unsure of what the heck they want to do with their lives. It was fun, sweet, and all kinds of sexy. I still have a smile on my face.

I am so happy that Chris ended up with the right guy, good choice. The other outcome would have been a huge disaster in the long run. They make one hot couple, these two are sexy and actually really care deeply for each other and they definitely know how to have fun! Great story and nicely written with some misunderstandings and confusion about love and sex but that's all part of growing up. Lovely and a recommended read!
It's hard to provide a clear review when I'm still doing happy dances over the ending!

This ticks off all my must haves for a 5 star - believable characters, a story that's not predictable, romance that's written well and not too gushy, hot hot hot sex scenes (if i could give an extra star for including kitchen sex I would!), dialogue that makes you laught out loud, interesting side characters that drive the story, a little angst that you know will not be dragged out too long and a satisfying end...more

This was such a good story. I loved the characters, well except for one *coughs - Seth*. It's one of the first love stories that I found myself unsure about who I wanted the main character to end up with - at least for a while. I think he made the right choice and wow, they're a stunning match for each other. The angst and humor and romance all just went together so well. Another fave to add to my fave list.
This is how you write a romance!

I loved everything about this story. You get just enough about the characters to get you involved, the situations are the everyday kind of real things that happen, and the sex scenes had a good balance of the physical versus emotional. They also didn't strike me as repetitive. Yes, they're doing the same things but they aren't described the same, something I think a lot of writers miss.

I could have gone 5 stars except for two teeny, tiny, little things, the Queer...more

This was a really good story for me. I felt it was well written and I liked all the characters, even though I wanted to slap them all upside the head a couple of times for being dumb. To me, the author did a good job in keeping me wondering who would end up with who in the end, even though I was pretty sure I knew the answer. Parts were really sweet and you could see the love developing even though the characters weren't really acknowledging what was going on. Not heavy on angst and just an enjo...more
It's been a year since Chris graduated from high school and he hasn't yet decided what to do with his life. He works as a lifeguard, still lives with his mother and has a non-existent love life. But he's hoping at least the last part will change now that his friend Seth is coming home from college for the summer. Before Seth left they had fooled around a bit and Chris hasn't been able to forget what it felt to kiss and hold his friend. But he also hasn't forgotten how freaked out Seth got after...more
I am going to buy this paperback it is just that good. I was confused a few times by the names. Alex and Chris obviously are not very similar but being the same amount of letters and very common names it was easy to get them mixed up for me. Apperently for the author too as a scene or two had flip flopped charachters. Example - in a baseball scene Alex had gone to the batting cages right from work so he bought a new tee shirt and changed from his work botton down. The next scene it is on Chris....more

Hard to say how I really feel about this. I liked Chris quite a lot, Alex too actually. And I really enjoyed them together, they were sweet n sexy and both endearing in their own way, but I shed a couple tears for Seth and didn't fully enjoy seeing him being rejected even tho I understand the how and why. I feel sad for him nonetheless. And because we saw his feelings and his confusion, it just made me all the more sad that it didn't work out for him. Again, I can see how and why, that just does...more
Wow great book. I loved it. Chris, bless his heart that age is so hard. I also felt for Seth. I also enjoyed Alex. I don't miss the being young and confused stage. Not saying I know everything now but I know a heck of a lot then I did at that age.hehe Would not want to go back, lol. I would love to see sequel to this book!!

Loved this book. Anyone looking for a nice contemporary read should definitely pick this up. I had this in my “Wish List” for quite a while and I’m kicking myself I didn’t buy it sooner.

Contrary to the cover, this is not a threesome story. We do get a peek inside the heads of all 3 characters, which I like. Shows how each guy is handling what’s going on. It’s easy to want them to do well even when they are screwing up.

That being said, I’m glad the 2 who got together were the ones to do so. They...more
When I first saw the cover for this book, my thoughts immediately went "Threesome. Yes!" Alas, this was not the case. Chris, our hot SoCal hero, is having to choose between two men: Seth, his friend turned more through high school, and Alex, his sexy Boston transplant neighbor.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters all played so well off one another that it was easy to see where each was coming from. I really liked that the author gave some insight into Seth's character; it would have be...more
This is a cute story with some well crafted characters but lost some of my attention with all the sex scenes. I found my mind wandering with sex scene after sex scene that didn’t actually advance the relationships or the story. This is definitely a story where great sex leads to an emotional connection because the men simply don’t want to give up the best sex of their lives. This isn’t a bad thing necessarily and certainly realistic, especially so as the men do develop an emotional connection ev...more

Rachel West's debut novel is a really sweet and sexy summer read. The three main characters are all interestingly different and develop through the course of the narrative; there is plenty of hot sex, but always in service of the plot; and just enough tension to make you want to keep turning the pages. Everyone is very likeable - even the antagonist, who is really just confused and a little spoilt - and Alex is a particularly loveable character.

I think, as an example of a low-angst romance this...more
I was very pleasantly surprised by this book. Coming of age tales aren't really my thing, and I prefer my characters a little older. But, it was a challenge for my reading group, so I gave it a whirl. I am so glad I did! All 3 of the characters are so beautifully flawed, with issues that felt so very real and appropriate for their ages. Chris is 19 and doesn't know what he wants to do with his life. Haven't we all been there? Seth is struggling with his sexuality, and the unexpected feelings he'...more

This was an enjoyable read. The characters are relatable, likable and realistic. Chris stumbling through the varying degrees of love we all experience at some point in our lives and finally maturing, able to distinguish what's real love and what isn't which enables him to choose the right guy in the end made me want to hug him. Truly an engaging read I didn't put down until the story was complete.
I think this was Rachel's first book? I loved it. I thought it was well-written, the story made sense, the characters had distinct personalities and I was invested in the two main heroes. I'll definitely watch for more books by this author.

Despite the amount of heavy sex-skimming I had to do, this was a very enjoyable read. I like it when authors write dialogue that actually sounds the way real people talk.
A thoroughly enjoyable read. It hits it on all marks. 5 stars.

Ever since Chris Bennett graduated high school a year ago, he's been trying to figure out what's next. His lifeguarding job has kept him busy, and in southern California, poolside isn't a bad place to be. But he's spent most of his time thinking about Seth, the former classmate who became something more for a few brief moments last summer. Now Seth is back, but he seems to be running toward Chris
I really enjoyed this short book. It was a sweet romance but with lots of hot sex!

Chris (nineteen) is not going anywhere with his life, undecided about his career and lusting after Seth who does not seem to share his feelings. After being hurt by Seth, he finds himself in the arms of his older (twenty six) and gorgeous neighbour.

Alex has been hurt in the past and had sworn never to give his heart to anyone again but he finds himself drawn to Chris who he finds "Different. Funny. Beautiful." Relu...more
I really struggled with this book...not because it was bad, but because it appeared to be the same scene, written slightly differently, over & over again...the sex, although initially hot to read, was again, monotonously familiar by the end of the book...another detraction (for me) was the multi-orgasmic abilities of the MC's...I can live with 3-4 orgasms (from guys) in a night during the initial 'honeymoon' phase of a relationship but it starts to become ludicrous & improbable after the...more
A sweet M/M romance between 19 year old Chris and 26 year old Alex. Chris lives at home with his mom, working as a lifeguard at the local pool, while he tries to decide what he wants out of life - his future career and who he loves. Alex is his next door neighbor, newly arrived from Boston after a bad break-up with his boyfriend of three years. He's determined not to fall in love again, as it only leads to pain and disillusionment, but somehow, Chris manages to find his way behind his barricades...more

This book was an entertaining, sweet, and light romance.

I could have only wished that the author would have turned both guys lusting after Chris into viable candidates.

Maybe I'm a bit of a masochist because I love it when the author messes with your head, and makes you struggle and sway over which love interest to pick. To me that is the definition of a true love triangle. I feel that the author made it pretty clear from the get go who the right choice was. There was no swaying in who one shoul...more
There was a whole lot of sex in this book. But it was really, really good sex & the characters were awesome. This story was just what I needed right now. Just a straight up, slightly angsty, small love triangle romance. No cops, no bad guys, no mystery. Just heartfelt feelings and interesting characters and great sex. Although some people might wonder which guy Chris would end up loving in the end (view spoiler)...more
I really liked this book and would have given it 4 stars except for one little thing that bothered me. I don't think it needed quite so many sex scenes. There was a great story here. The characters and plot were very well done and I liked how the POV changed to get all three guys thoughts across. The amount of sex, while well written, was just a bit much. I wanted more conversations and getting-to-know-you moments. We are told that those things happened, but I wanted to experience them with Alex...more

Rachel West lives in the Virginia mountains, where she dotes on her loving partner and their two cats and works in a job that is much less exciting than writing about boys in love. When not wandering around in her characters' world, she loves to hike, play silly board games, and read everything she can get her hands on.
