So cute! I love the illustration style. There is a charming, quirky quality to the animals (hard to describe, but so winsome!) yet they also do a good job of portraying the animals. The rhymes flow fairly well and it would make a nice book for wee ones, especially if they already like animals and the book itself (made of recycled materials) has sturdier pages, like a non-glossy board book. Slightly older kids could have fun with some of the projects in the back, and learning additional informati ...more
What I liked about this book is that shows various landscapes and climates that animals live in. It also has a good mix of well-known and lesser-known animals. And, the rhymes actually rhyme! :) I didn't stumble over the pacing like I do in a lot of rhyming books.

It was kind of odd not having any real beginning or end, but for what the book was, I enjoyed it and think it serves its purpose well.

And the illustrations are quite cute.

Recommends it for: animal lovers
This is one of two “green start” books I got for a new baby to be. I guess he’ll have to grow into him, or lend them to his older brother first because, while these are board books, they’re marked as being for ages 3-6.

I liked this one much better then the book One Tree. (Author/book links are not working right now!) Both books have the same publisher and illustrator but different writers.

This one I really liked. The text consists of a poem, which doesn’t really have a beginning, middle or end,

Some animals she provides more specific names for as well, such as "horned owl," rather than simply "owl." The illustrations are incredibly precious. Phillips creates images that are fun and sure to please both child and adult alike, not only for this book, but in all her work - c ...more

Simple story about animals and their habitats or the region of the world they live. Nothing new in the story but I love that the book is environmentally friendly. Ideal for toddlers.
I love that this book is made of reusable material and the message of the book is to preserve our wildlife.
