For a first time foray into western romance Denise Hunter has done an outstanding job. There's humor and heartache, with just enough romance to warm the heart. But coming from such a gifted author this is not surprising!

I am a big Denise Hunter fan - so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw her newest release had come out! I have been a long-time reader of Denise Hunter’s books and she has become a favorite author of mine. I was looking forward to reading A Cowboy’s Touch because the setting and the characters were different from her previous books. In one scene in A Cowboy’s Touch, Wade called Abigail a name not mentioned earlier in the book, Grace. I found that peculiar since Abigail’s name does not have Grace in it. This peculiarity aside, the grammar and language in A Cowboy’s Touch is faultless. Nevertheless, I felt that something was missing in it. I wish the plot was more entertaining and unique. Cowboy stories....I LOVE them! Steamy ones, and good ol' fashioned sweet, clean ones like this. Any book with a hunky cowboy in it is one that will win my heart in a heartbeat! Plus, I LOVE Denise Hunter's work. She has a knack for creating tenderly written stories filled with fun loving characters to keep her readers hooked. And, like with her others, this one hit home.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable book, one that I did not want to put down once I started reading it. Being a romance, it's no surprise how the two main characters, Wade and Abby, end up, but the events that unfold along the way were what captured my attention and held it.

When I received this book, I thought it was going to be a silly romance novel because of the cover, but I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, it's a romance and it's about a rodeo cowboy. No, it's not silly. It's a story with surprising character depth. I did think the premise was a bit far-fetched with the idea that Abigail could save her family's magazine with one expose. I always like to read books in the order the series was written. This being the first; and my daughter recommended these books, I started with this one. I liked the way the story opens but as I read I found myself not liking the main character. How could she be ok with dishonesty and profiting on another's suffering?
