This is an amazing book with quite a few layers to it. On the surface it's just what the blurb talks about: Xander knows that he loves Sundar, but Sundar isn't ready to see that, accept it or act on it. Well, he's tempted by the sex, but refuses to go along with what Xander really wants and ends up needing: for Sander to accept that he is gay and that he returns Xander's love.

I suspect that a lot of readers will feel sorry for Xander who is hopelessly in love with a tightly closeted man. It migh

To date I think this has to be my favorite book by DJ Manly. This is a contemporary story about an in the closet detective. Sundar mets Xander through a case of mistaken identity and for Xander its love at first sight. Sundar struggles to deal with his sexuality, pushing Xander away and doing a number of stupid things. The writing is fantastic and the story flows so well you will have finished it before you know it. I loved Xander and felt that he was the more mature of the two although younger ...more

it was a nice gay-for-you-native-american-cop book.
no really girly bits in it but sometimes it was too much description of the het sex scenes.

It's an amazingly complicated book. Xander is so desperately in love with closed Sundar and on the surface you'd think his pain would make you dislike the hunky detective. In fact, it couldn't be farther from the truth. Mr. Manly has written Sundar with great emotion, showing how unsettled and confused he is and doing in a manner that makes the reader feel as much for him as they do for Xander. In by opinion that takes true creativity and skill.

The overall plotting is good, the flow smooth and t

Schism started off as a good idea, however, once I got into the story it became a train wreck. I just kept thinking it would get better. Being a fan of D.J. Manly books I expected more...more character developement...more plot...I'm really not sure or maybe it was less...less stereotyping...less grammer and typing mistakes that distracted from the reading making me stop and reread things to figure out what the sentence should have said. I have to say I am a really big fan of D.J. Manly and just ...more

Overall I liked this book. While reading it, one phrase came to mind: Love is blind. Sundar is in love with Xander but heavily entrenched in denial. Xander is in love with Sundar and makes it no secret. There is no question of Xander's love for Sundar, despite the pain he feels everytime he discovers something that Sundar has done. Sundar unintentially hurts Xander with his actions while he attempts to come to terms with what and who he really wants and is.

Sundar is a character that I loved and hated throughout the book, a history of painful and stressful but also very sweet especially love that Xander feels for Sundar. I liked this book for the intensity and strength of all the sentiments expressed and because the writer has spared nothing in describing the reality as it can be ruthless

I write not only for my own pleasure, but for the pleasure of my readers. I can’t remember a time in my life when I haven’t written and told stories. When I’m not writing, I’m dreaming about writing, doing something wild and adventurous, or trying to make the world a better and more open minded place to live in. I adore beautiful men, and I know I’m not alone in this! Eroticism between consenting ...more
