The Marrakech sun bled down on Michael Brighton as he bathed nude in its warmth.

"Home," his lips blew the word silently into the spice-scented breeze.

He was a student of all things old. His life had been one of saving the condemned, of bringing life back to the stone cold dead. His calling was noble. His love was not.

Michael loved a married man.

Weird-ish. I don't quite know if it's interesting.

Still...kind of good-ish?

It's told semi-in media res and the continuity is a little bit hard to pick up on at first.

Ending was a bit rushed, but not bad, I guess.

(ETA: Half-way through writing this review, I apparently fell asleep [that's what I get for sitting on my bed, I guess...] and woke up, stared at the screen, had no idea what else to write, and just clicked "save." The following is actually from a comment you can see below, but explains...more

I am really speechless about about this book. Author Chloe Stowe has completely outdone herself.

Imagine meeting the man of your dreams, your soulmate, your everything; only to have them torn from your life. Or being chained to the vows of marriage, condemed to see that all you ever wanted is out there in the world; but can only be attained in secret. Never really being able to "know" the person who hold your heart.

Not only does author Chloe Stowe broach these subjects, she also takes you along...more

Good:
The characters
Prose was very poetic and descriptive, making the book unique on it's own

Bad:
Too much fluff
The marriage idea could've been fleshed out. Reading about how they'd overcome a marriage out of love rather than out of convenience would've been much more interesting.

Well-written, poetic and entertaining, even if some of the story frame is romance and difficult to relate to in the 21st century.

I am Panic's whore.

When I was nineteen years old and on an academic scholarship at Auburn Unviersity, I developed a chronic panic disorder. Over the next six years I fought the beast called Panic with my bare knuckles...

I lost.

I had to drop out of school, I couldn't get a job and eventually I couldn't get out of my bedroom. Panic had me by the throat and I was slowly dying.

My parents and my docto...more
