I was very intrigued with Nico from Shadow Game, for his dark, lethally dangerous, very controlled aura, and how he seemed to fade into the shadows. I thought he'd make for a very good hero in his own book. His story lived up to his potential, both the first and second times.

The PNR aspect in this book was stronger than in the 1st book in the series, and it was better explained. Geek that I am, I just love the scientific "mumbo jumbo"! The romance aspect wasn´t too shabby either: Nicolas and Dahlia could really burn down the house - sorry, I couldn´t help the "bad" joke... ;)
I´m definitely hooked to this series and can´t wait to see all the remaining GhostWalkers finding their matches!

My second book by this author and the second installment in the GW Series and all I can say is if I’m ever in need of rescue, would you please send in Nicolas! Wow – He is just amazing! And I agree with Dahlia... ”he wasn’t just any man. He was extraordinary”..a walking lethal weapon!
Nicolas Travene is a dark, strong, silent, fierce, alpha warrior whose ice is melted by Dahlia Le Blanc, also a product of the late Dr. Peter Whitney’s genetic alteration. Together, they sizzle and create their...more

Moved just a little too slow for me. On the plus side, I liked how Dahlia and Nicholas were able to communicate with each other through their telepathic abilities. It's hard to hide your feelings from your lover when they can read your mind! I also liked how Nicholas was completed unashamed in his feelings for and pursuit of Dahlia. Kind of refreshing :)
Great read! Nico intrigued me in the first book of the series, and I'm glad Feehan didn't make us wait too long for his story. I totally loved that she balanced his stoic, warrior persona with warmth and tenderness. I know some readers said they didn't buy it, but I think his background of being raised by healers who held to ancient and wise teachings made these two sides of his personality believable. You can be quiet, methodical and even dangerous, as Nico is and still have a great deal of pas...more
I must be the only one who gives such low ratings to the books in this series, but so far book 1 and 2 were not of my taste at all, I mean they are not bad, just not as interesting as I would want them to be.
Some parts I loved but others were a bit boring. It's just that I don't find the topic that appealing.
But the romance was pretty good. Sometimes I even got excited about the two of them together, because they actually did have some good moments together but that's about it. There are many t...more

3.75 stars. I enjoyed Mind Game for many of the same reasons I enjoyed the first book in the series. Loved the evolving plot, the suspense kept me guessing, and I enjoyed the camaraderie among the ghost walkers. Of course, I loved seeing Dahlia begin to trust in Nico's love for her. Feehan did a nice job portraying their developing relationship.

Tbh, I've been avoiding this series for quite a few years due to my lukewarm feelings towards CF's Dark/Carpathians series. Boy was I surprised when I began reading this book - this read more like Kiss of Snow than the lackluster writing and recycled formula of the Carpathians. The story did drag a bit and there were many many passages that I was tempted to skim but because I didn't read book1, I felt I had to be vigilant and soak up every piece of information and backstory I could get....more

Ah very good book, very emotional right from the beginning. Its so sad to see how the girls were being mistreated by Dr.Whitney during the experimenting. How they manage to grow up dealing with their powers with no real help. Dahlia has managed to become a very strong person who is used to taking care of herself. She has such a dangerous power and is afraid when she feels too much emotion she sets things on fire, so she is not used to being around people, but her and Nicolas were fit for eachoth...more
I like to evaluate the books I read in two different ways. First from a technical point of view (how well the writer strings together words, how coherent the story is, how developed the characters are, etc) and second how interesting and meaningful the story is.
On both counts, Christine Feehan excels in Mind Game. Technically I saw hardly a flaw to distract me (perhaps a bit repetitious when discussing the feelings but this seems a common flaw in many romance books). The plot and the characters...more

What a strong book it pulls you in from the very being with is strong emotions. Lily is always in the background throughout the book, she wants to find all the girls and help them and it is not just about the guilt she sees these girls as her lost sisters and needs to find them. So she finds Dahlia and Nicolas is the one who insisted he goes to bring her home. Wow I love Nicolas he is the one who stay back in the corners playing with his knife he looked dark, dangerous and only spoke when he nee...more
Wa-la. Book 2.
Here I am at book 2, and yet, none of my questions seemed to be answered. Now, i have more questions than ever. I really like this idea of genetic enhancement and the idea that there might be people out there who actually believe that by using modern sciences, they can ultimately create superhuman beings. [which can both be cool and dangerous:].
Even with the introduction of another pair of Ghostwalkers, i find their abilities to be distinct and very much adapted to their personalit...more

I enjoyed this book very much. This is the second one I've read by this author, and I liked her to begin with but this book is even better. I loved the heroine, Dahlia. I picture her as looking like Maggie Q from Nikita. Dahlia had an interesting backstory and a unique power that I've never come across before. She was sympathetic and lonely but strong and independent. I loved that her power merged with Nicholas' to make each of them better, and that he could tap into his healing power when he me...more
I'm uncomfortable saying I really liked the book when so many things bothered me but I really liked the idea behind the book.
I did figure out what was bothering me with Ms. Feehan's writing. She sets up a wonderful portrait of a character then as the book progresses, has that character go completely against his/her nature with their actions. It totally confuses and annoys me! Take Nicholas (the hero), for example, Throughout book #1 and beginning in this book, he is portrayed as a native Americ...more

I was very intrigued by the mysterious Nico in shadow Game and i'm very happy to announce that i love him. Nico is a Ghostwalker, an extremely skilled lone hunter. He is responsible, loyal and lives by his own code of honor, but he likes being alone.

As much as I loved Shadow Game, the first book in Christine Feehan’s GhostWalkers series; this second book, Mind Game, just fell flat for me. Although this book picks up where the first left off, I felt as if I were reading a story from a completely different writer. All the intrigue, excitement, action, and adventure that was in the first book, was just not there in this one. In the first book we were introduced to the GhostWalkers and learned about their creation and special abilities. This se...more
Im...more
Like Shadow Game, Mind Game is about 50-100 pages too long. Christine Feehan isn't a bad author, but she has a tendency to repeat certain phrases, snatches of exposition, and bits of dialog over and over again in her books. She obviously doesn't trust her readers to understand anything the first time she explains it. When I wasn't cursing Feehan for this frustrating idiosyncrasy in her writing style, I managed to enjoy this book. The characters were interesting, the plot was compelling, and I pa...more
At the end of Shadow Game Lily and the GhostWalkers were determined to find the other children that Lily's father Dr Whitney had experimented on to enhance their psychic abilities. Dahlia is the first of those children that she has managed to track down but after looking at recordings of her training it seems she has a dangerous ability. Nicolas is sent to find her and let her know that they can help her to live a normal life but when he gets to her he finds she has become the target of deadly a...more
When I finished reading book 1 in the series, I hoped book 2 would be about Nico, and it is.
Nicolas Trevane is a cold and efficient killer, a good killer at that. He lives by his own code of right and wrong, and a big wrong is crossing people he cares about.
It is natural then, that he would go after the people trying to kill Dahlia LeBlanc, in whom he has an unusual interest that borders on obsession.
I like dark, silent, and strong men, and Nicolas is exactly that. However, Dhalia came across as...more

Christine Feehan's Mind Game is book 2 in the GhostWalkers series. In book 1, Shadow Game, we were introduced to the GhostWalkers, a group of men with advanced military backgrounds and scientifically enhanced psychic skills. Mind Game focuses on GhostWalker Nicholas Trevane, and his mission to find and recover Dahlia Le Blanc, a government operative with astonishing telekinetic talents.

I think this is a more emotional book than the first. Don't get me wrong they are both emotional but there isn't as much world building in this story so Ms. Feehan was able to devote more to the connection between Dahlia and Nicolas. She also introduce a second group of military men that have been experimented on by Peter Whitney. This is the story where I fell for Ken and Jack Norton and Jessie Calhoun. There is a lot of action throughout this story. Plus all the information on Dahlia and what...more
The characters are quite interesting, and none of them is "white" in American terms. It made me think about how in this series the males are all part of a group, a community, while the women are the marginal ones, living in isolation and on the fringes of society--in some cases literally "off the grid". The men are all career military men with great reputations and part of a close-knit group. While the "dark ones" were on the margins by nature and on the verge of self-destruction, this guys are...more
This is the second book in the Ghost Walker series, which follows men and women who have been "enhanced" by a combination of genetic engineering and designer drugs to have supernatural powers. There is much mayhem and action and a strong love story as Nicolas and Dahlia fight to survive and outwit the bad guys. Nico's devotion to Dahlia was very touching. My only complaint is that this book felt "heavy" - constant action, the constant angst of Dahlia's inner monolog- I would have liked some levi...more
2.5 stars. Would've been 3.5 if not for the numerous gender and racial stereotypes. And Ms. Feehan, I appreciate you trying to incorporate people of colour into your stories, but when you repeatedly describe them as ~exotic~, my appreciation is canceled out. Just stop. We are not ~exotic~.
Concept, plot, and writing are good and kept my attention. The characters were rather inconsistent though. I thought Nico was supposed to be a loner? Sure didn't act like one. The love story was cute even thoug...more

Well, I don't think Hollywood will ever make a Feehan book into a movie, unless they want to make an x-rated flic. I've read one or two others in the Ghostwalkers series, and this one is the steamiest so far. I still enjoyed the characters, and their struggles to overcome their weaknesses and still stand up for what they believe is right. I've also noticed that with the Ghostwalkers series, I can skip around in the series without being too confused. Feehan seems to focus on a different couple in...more
