I'm a Sheldon fan. His books usually make quick reading and are entertaining. He is not one for deep, haunting tales but it snags me everytime the way he can spin almost any story and make me stay up reading it. However, for this one, he seems to have lost quite a bit of his spinning abilities.

There was the usual twist where things don't end up how you would expect. I was mildly surprised with this one but the problem was, it wasn't an "Ah! I've figured it out" moment. I was more like, "are you

Love and betrayal linked in the world of politics.
Written by the master of deceit, Sidney Sheldon <3

Sidney Sheldon's "The Best Laid Plans" intrigues from the very beginning and compels the reader to continue reading until the last page
(Message to the future readers of Sheldon's novels: Forget about peeing! It ain't going to happen until you finish this in just one sit)
OSM SHELDON.

Another delicious revenge/love/backstabbing story. Leslie's character's ending is so appropriate and I was surprised to find out who was responsible for Chloe's death.

i usually have very high expectations with a Sidney Sheldon book..
Becoz i hv read If Tomorrow Comes and Rage of Angels..both of them are masterpieces..
but i hate to admit it that thiz book didnt meet my expexttions..

The plot was gripping, and the suspense was good..Even the characters were nice..
Throughout the book i thought, what an asshole Oliver was..but when the truth was revealed, i was dumbstruck..

Peace Love and Reviews
Leslie and Stewart, had it good. she was on the top of her game, young, beautiful, intelligent and the number one in public relations field. He was handsome, charismatic and have a lot of potential. They were in love, engaged to be married in a few days until Oliver got a call from his former girlfriend, Senator father.
Todd, promised him money and power but he has to marry his daughter. Oliver was sure he would not do it but the Senator's word echoed in his mind and left Leslie to be humiliated.

I’m still having Sidney Sheldon marathon, folks and this is the third book I have read in the past three days. Yep, you got that right, I read one book a day, nothing difficult with this one as Mr. Sheldon’s works are quite “light and entertaining”.

How can I start with “The Best Laid plans”? Before I picked it up this morning, I only remember that I have read it once and I thought it was awesome, but that was me – 15 years ago perhaps and I’m sure that I have changed a lot since then, including

Author is Sidney Sheldon corporation, suggests owners of a name hire ghostwriters to capitalize on previous successes by the original name. Formula seems to be power-hungry characters of importance, fame and physical beauty threatened by affairs and murder, international research, with a surprise twist or two. Lead female cleverly outwits men to success. Action avalanches so fast, I forgot previous reading and whodunit. Others use the same title, Terry Fallis for an honest Ottawa candidate, and ...more

as it usually is with Sheldon, I finished the book in one day!! mind blowing as usual...Oliver Russell kind of reminds me of Obama; charming, well-meaning and absolutely useless!
the part about the Arab king and the peace treaty is my least favorite of course...I found it stupid which is a shame cuz Sheldon doesn't do stupid.
I cried when Kamel cried in the van. which by the way reminds me of how infuriating the whole it's-nobody's-yet-everybody's-fault explanation Sheldon appointed to both mentio

Love, jealeousy, crime and revenge in world of US politics and press market. Characters of The Best Laid Plans are of flesh and blood - they love, betray, get married cause of reason to make a carrier, kill to hide their secret passions. Sheldon's book is similiar to Kane and Abel by Jeffrey Archer. Those books aren't so FBI or CIA as Tom Clancy's stuff. Good for reading while travelling by a train, a tram or a bus.

I really liked this book. This is full of suspense and drama. Once you started reading The Best Laid Plans then you don't feel like stopping , I was shocked about the story ending in a different way. It is full of suspense.Politics and Power can make people sober sometime. Happy reading it!! Thank!!

this is the third sidney sheldon I read and I really doubt if im ever going to read another.
what a meaningless, senseless book was this?
the only reason I gave it 2 stars was because it kept me hooked and compelled me to finish it asap. but the ending was a complete letdown. you know how when you read amazing books and they make you feel sad at the ending because you want more? and then there are some that you just cant believe have ended, because the ending makes no sense and youre sure that su

Read it in a handful visits to the toilet at my parents' house. This is the first book by Sheldon I've completed... and probably the last. The writing technique is basic and unskilled. The characters are flat and uninteresting. An example: the omniscient narrator tells us the main character, Leslie Stewart, is very intelligent. He repeats it about three times over the first pages instead of showing it via the character's actions of AT LEAST making other characters say it. The ending is very pred ...more

I always love the female characters portrayed in Sheldon's books, they are beautiful, smart, ambitious, strong, and independent. For this book, how should I begin?

An advertising executive, Leslie Stewart is a smart and beautiful woman who is in love with local attorney and current governor in the running--- Oliver Russel. Oliver Russel seems to share the same feeling towards her, they get engaged yet later he ditches her to marry a Senator daughter.
With support from the Senator and the campaign

One of the best books I have ever read in my entire life. The thrill and the suspense is always on. Only in a not so typical way. The author never fails to keep the thrill and tension coming in from the reader. There comes a moment when you realize you just know the whole ending. And, then you realize you were wrong. Sheldon hails again in making a brazing victory for another thriller's ending!!! Waiting to read more of Sheldon.

'The Best Laid Plans' is truly best laid according to me. I am so bewildered after completing this novel that I am still roaming around in the world of politics and journalism. Now, I can feel the characters Dana Evans, Leslie Stewart, Oliver Rushell and Senator Davis after completing a mysterious and overwhelming journey with them. The character of Dana Evans, an intelligent, attractive and bold journalist, is undoubtedly Sydney's one of the most powerful and glorious creations. Once again the ...more

Kept me reading, especially because of the layout style. There is a lesson here about vengeance in the way that the book ends.

Leslie Stewart is a brilliant and beautiful woman with goals that she is very determined to reach. When the man of her dreams, Oliver Russell, jilts her and elopes with an old flame, she swears to get revenge. Oliver's new congressman father-in-law wants him to become governor, and then president. This mission gets accomplished while Leslie marries a rich older man who di

I actually listened to this on my walks. It was cheap, trashy and fascinating. I was inspired to keep walking to hear what was going to happen next--the plot was totally implausible, but definitely fun to think about. This is the first Sidney Sheldon book I've experienced, but I think that more might be in my future as recordings to keep me walking.

I think the story is good. There are a lot of characters and their connections with each other, plus the unexpected revelation of Peter Tager's hidden activities. The misconception that it was Oliver Russell.
However, I somehow find the ending a bit weak. The focus of the story diverted to Dana Evans rather than Leslie Stewart's revenge to the governor.

Sidney Sheldon spins a tale of two equally determined people headed on a collision course

The lady was determined. The guy?Not so much.He got everything, down to the minutest details, planned and handed to him on a platter. He couldn't even keep himself from not complicating matters by sleeping with a certain Italian beauty. The beginning was interesting, and I thought Leslie was the MC and didn't like abandoning her point of view to switch over to Dana's story. Also, in a revenge story I want to rea

This was my first "mature" book that I read. So, it was really very exciting for me. I quickly got hook by the character of Leslie Stewart. While in the middle of the book, I was quickly blaming Oliver Russel for the deaths of many women, who somehow is connected to him until.....JUST READ THE BOOK PLEASE!!!!!

Not sure whether I've read too many books from Sidney Sheldon or this book was not that awesome, I could guess all the possible twists and turns very easily. Oliver cheats Leslie Stewart and gets himself married to Senator Todd Davis's daughter. With the help of Todd Davis, Leslie manages to marry a newspaper owner. Leslie gets well with the media empire, and she swears to destroy Oliver, who manages to become the President of United States in the meantime. Dana Evans, reputed female reporter, i ...more

In my High School Years I was absolutely enthralled with what I thought were brilliant and twisting plots written by Sidney Sheldon. Well, either I've grown or he's grown predictable, because although I read the book quickly, I absolutely predicted every 'twist' and the ending.

Was an American writer who won awards in three careers—a Broadway playwright, a Hollywood TV and movie screenwriter, and a best-selling novelist. His TV works spanned a 20-year period during which he created I Dream of Jeannie (1965-70), Hart to Hart (1979-84), and The Patty Duke Show (1963-66), but it was not until after he turned 50 and began writing best-selling novels such as Master of the Gam ...more
