This book has a lot of characters which are all basically introduced in the first few pages of the book which made it difficult to keep all of the straight until at least halfway through. The characters are somewhat interesting although there's a lot of typecasting and for some reason everyone is gorgeous. I was totally unfamiliar with Suza Kates and her books until I got this book (Whisper of a Witch) as a free promotion from Pixel of Ink for Kindle through Amazon. I love anything to do with witches, and I was immediately hooked. I bought her other two books of the Savannah Witches' Coven for my Kindle and simply flew through them. Whisper of a Witch is a pretty refreshing read from the kind of paranormal romance books I usually pick up. Rather than starting off with a bunch of hunks swaggering about flexing their muscles and killing things (which I do like, by the way), Suza begins by introducing a group of females.

WHISPER OF A WITCH to start this book really brings to mind another book Dark Nights, Dark Dreams: Sisterhood of the Sight, they are very, very similar. Whisper of a Witch is about nine witches who have been destined to come together. The girls did not know each other, most of them didn't even know they were witches. bought this book blindly as it was recommended at the end of another book I finished. It turned out to be an entertaining find!

When I first began reading the book I was a little confused with all the characters that were introduced, but as I continued to read, they were sorted out fairly well - though here and there still had to rethink about who was who. I liked that the main focus of the book eventually revolved around only one of the witches, Shauni. Admittedly, as I write this review, I’ve already read all of them. I read them quickly. I loved them. Obviously, this being the first in the series, there was a great deal of set up to be done, and I think it was well done. During the first few pages of this book my thoughts were a little confused. There were so many characters brought into the picture all at once that I half convinced myself that I'd never remember who was who. In actual fact, the author was very clever in this respect and it didn't take long at all to feel I knew each and every one of them.

Whisper of a Witch is a tale woven in magic, enchantment, sisterhood and romance. It sparks imagination and is mystifying from the start. I love the prologue's introduction to many of the characters in the book. I was entranced by the different personalities and walks of life the characters came from. Suza does a fantastic job of character story telling, development and combining the characters into an easily understandable meld. This is some of the best character choreographing I have read.

I started this book because I have been on a witch/supernatural kick lately and wanted to find a book in that vein with a little different twist, (and more books in the series in case I liked it). Turns out that I did like it- I liked Shauni as a character and liked the idealism of the story, even if the plot didn't have very many twists.
I completely fell in love with the main character, Shauni Miller and all of the other characters. This is one of those stories that made me ready to move straight to the next in the series. I loved the relationship between Shauni and her coven members. I also became completely infatuated with the love affair between Shauni and Michael.

But super fun if you are able to suspend reality and play with the authors visions. Very fast, kinda chic-ish witchy love stories. Great for a simple rainy day zoom zoom.
The book starts out with a lot of characters and you learn a little about each one in the beginning with the focus being on Shauni. As the book goes along you learn more and more about each character, but you know that this is Shauni's story. If you like paranormal romance/chicklit where all the women are impossibly beautiful, intelligent and sexy and bond over pretty clothes, scented candles and magik ceremonies, where the sex is cliche, the romance clunky and there is excessive use of of adjectives and adverbs, then you'll love this book.

This series is a fun adult series about modern day witches. If you like supernatural reads this is a fun and romantic series. I'm not big on the romance part but it holds your interest throught.
This book was an easy read. Enjoyed the setting, the characters and the activities. This is the first in a series. Hope the next book is out now as stated. The power of 3 and 9 with cats and a great male.
Book definitly serves as the intro to the rest of the series. Wasn't really gripped by it, but could see great potential. Will stick with the next ones.

I can’t remember a time when I didn’t love books, but two particular memories stay with me.
