"Whoever said it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved was full of crap."
I cannot believe I finally caved in. After the drama of the third book and what it did to my state of mind I declared it unsafe and potentially harmful to myself to read this book. But I am weak. So so weak. *hangs head*

Angst… is the word of the day.
Meet Sabine – Nash’s Ex:

Yep, she a bitch! Worse, she is a Beautiful Bitch!
Then to top it all off, guess who’s back:
Meet Avari – our favorite hellion:

I wanted to give it 5 stars because it was a very addictive read but wanted to give it 3 stars because the author pissed me off, leaving me in complete confusion on how I am supposed to feel. So I settled on 4 stars.
Only read if you have already read the book - this is just my thoughts on this book, after the fact. :)...more
Rachel Vincent does it again and knocks another book awesome book out. My Soul to Steal is just as good as everyone says. Filled with raw emotions, a demon out to kill and a love triangle that will leave your heart torn and it’s definitely not one to miss.

Kaylee and Nash are in limbo after she breaks up with him. Things shake up when Nash’s NIGHTMARE of an ex, Sabine shows up. Except, *and there’s zero catiness as I type this* Sabine really is a NIGHTMARE.
I’ve finally figured out what made me not like the first two: they read/sounded “young,” granted the books are YA, I just couldn’t connect their “youngish” tone. My Soul to Steal was another great addition to Soul Screamers. The series definitely has it's ups and downs for me. Somethings bug me - all the teenage angst mainly, but overall it's a good YA series about something we don't get elsewhere, bean shide.
I struggled throughout this one. At times I wanted to sit Kaylee down and have a "chat" with her. "Either love 'im or leave 'im. You're killin' the poor guy." While other times I wanted to support her. "Take your time, honey." She's not really give...more

SPOILERS! If you haven't read My Soul to Keep
From the description:
Trying to work things out with Nash—her maybe boyfriend—is hard enough for Kaylee Cavanaugh.
*coughs* Excuse me??? Your maybe boyfriend? THE DUDE LET YOU BE POSSESSED BY A DEMON, YOU ASSHOLE!!
Let's set this straight;
All of the things Nash has done to make you break up with him (or at least SHOULD)
1. He lied to you for a month about being high on Demon's Breath
2. He let you be possessed by a demon
3. He had sex with the possesse...more

At the start of this book, Kaylee is still "licking her wounds" from the events of the last book. She still loves Nash but for now needs some space to get herself together. She figures she has plenty of time, but then Nash's ex, Sabine shows up. Sabine makes it obvious she wants Nash back and will stop at nothing to get him. She is a mara, literally Kaylee's worst nightmare, so she has an entire arsenal up her sleeve. Kaylee will have to decide whether to step aside or fight for what she wants,...more
This series just keeps getting better and better and My Soul to Steal is definitely my favorite thus far. The book starts with Nash and Kaylee's relationship in limbo as a result of Nash's addiction to "frost". Kaylee can't come to terms yet after everything that has happened. Enter Sabine, Nash's ex-girlfriend who is literally Kaylee's worst nightmare. Sabine's a "mara", someone who feeds off of other people's fears by way of their bad dreams and Kaylee seems to be #1 on her hit list.

Okay, so basically if you're familiar with the series, you know the main characters are Kaylee, Nash, Emma and Tod, and to a lesser extent Kaylee's dad, Nash's mom, Kaylee's cousin Sophie, etc. After Nash's actions in the previous book, Kaylee is -- understandably -- hesitant to trust him for much of My Soul to Steal and her inner turmoil is exploited even more when his ex-girlfriend Sabine comes to town and makes it clear that she'll do anything to get Nash back.

My Soul to Steal by Rachel Vincent was pure DRAMA. The last book ended on a very strong note, having our heroine break up with the main love interest out of completely fair terms (mainly he broke her trust by letting a demon take possession of her body and then the first time that that happened things in the bedroom went a bit too far out of our heroine's comfort zone... yeah I'd be breaking up him with, along with breaking his nose and some other prett...more

This book felt like pure filler, like it wasn't a novel in and off itself but something meant to bridge between this and the next book. I was bored by a lot of the inaction, which isn't something I've experienced in the series before. I've felt a lot of things about Rachel Vincent's writing and I didn't particularly like the main character in her adult series, but I've never felt quite so blah and bored before.

WARNING SPOILER ALERT!!!!This book made me conflicted a little. I feel like Sabine is a interferance and needs to back off. But towards the end you feel for her a little. I feel like Kaylee was wanting the best of both she didnt want Nash because she couldnt forgive him yet but didnt want anyone else to have him. I feel bad for Nash because though he let the demon take over kaylee she wasnt there for him as she should have been after or during. I also feel like Nash still has feelings for Sabine...more
Whew! Did I say My Soul to Keep was my favorite? Because what I really meant was My Soul to Steal! This series just keeps getting better and better!
As I said in my review of My Soul to Keep the characters in this series are phenomenal. You will adore them, you will hate them, you will yell at them, feel sorry for them, you will want to protect them! You WILL connect with these characters. And now we have a new character!

My Soul to Steal continues just weeks after Kaylee Cavanaugh learned that her boyfriend and fellow bean sidhe Nash had become addicted to Demon’s Breath, had traded his memories with Kaylee for the “drug,” and had allowed Avari, a Netherworld demon, to possess her.
Still reeling from Nash’s betrayal, attempting to pick up the pieces of her shattered trust and trying to come to terms with all that has happened to her, Kaylee has enough to contend with.

I didn't even put the book down the moment I started reading....but it was too fast....MYGOD Kaylee didn't even had a chance to take a breath......
and in the end of the story I ended up with a headache.....but still loved the story...
and also I noticed some progress in it too .I guess Tod is ganna tell Kaylee his feelings....please please Kaylee...take Tod damn it
The main issue or problems are that Nashs' ex girlfriend has come back for Nash and the Hellion Avari is trying to plan an energy Blitz through the Netherworld.
Kaylee and Nash aren't quite together but they're not broken up. Nash had broken Kaylees trust in the last book, and they're trying to work it out. Meanwhile, Nashs' ex Mara (Nightmare) girlfriend Sabine shows up at their highschool, in an attempt to get Nash back. Due to a hellion in the Netherworld, Invidia, everyones jealousy is sky...more

Oh, the drama! Oh, the angst! Oh, whatever shall we do?
While half of me spent was rolling my eyes at the high school theater in this story, the other half marveled at the mature themes. Kaylee (main character) has literally been betrayed and disappointed by every person in her life.
Well welcome to the real world, little girl.

after finding out about Nash addiction with Demon Breath, Kaylee decided to breakup temporarily for him to readjust his life. but things got instantly complicated when Nash's ex-girlfriend, Sabine transferred into their high school. she had a difficult childhood, was an ex-convict and clung tightly to the only good thing in her life, which happened to be Nash. as frustrated as Kaylee was with Sabine, she found out that Sabine was a Mara, who can read into people's fear and weaved it into nightma...more

First Thoughts: The romance here….oh my heart! *clutches chest* It is definitely so complicated.
The Story: Nash and Kaylee are so fragile, then Sabine (Nash’s ex-girlfriend) comes on the scene and we find out she is a mara – a creature who creates nightmare’s from people’s dreams and feeds on their emotions (fear). At the same time teachers at the school start dropping dead. Coincidence? That is what we find out in this book, and as usual ther...more

My Thoughts:
MY SOUL TO STEAL definitely delievered and had me hooked, the series continues to be awesome, there's jealousy, mystery, terror all mixed together to create another great edition to the series.
I sure do love the soul screamers series. It keeps you guessing, it keeps you on the edge of your seat and it keeps your head buried in the book. MY SOUL TO STEAL did all those things too!

If there's something to be said about Rachel Vincent, it's that she sure knows how to play with your emotions. There are parts of this book that make you want to scream and cry and others that have you laughing out loud. A big part of this book is spent on tension build-up and the strained relationship between Kaylee and Nash - made even rockier with the introduction of a new character: Sabine, Nash's Nightmare of an ex-girlfriend. Literally.

This is definitely my favorite of the series thus far. After finishing book #3, on my lunch hour, I started this book after I put the baby to bed, and got hubby off to work. And then I started reading voraciously!
At 10PM the Angel on my shoulder said "You should really fold some of that laundry and then start getting ready for bed"
But the Devil on the other shoulder answered "How can you go to bed without knowing what is going on with the B*tch Sabine?"
At 11PM the Angel said "Forget the Laundry...more

This book is probably my least favourite out of the entire series. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to do something violent after reading many, many scenes that caused me so much frustration. I loved Tod - he's probably the only character I really loved, including Alec and Aiden - but Sabine, Nash, and Kaylee herself really got on my nerves. Kaylee seemed handicapped at the Stand-Up-For-Yourself Department, and Nash was a jerk thrice over. He couldn't make a good decision about anything,...more
Rachel sure knows how to play with my emotions. I was ready to cry and then the next moment I was ready to throw my cup of water at the wall. I really really really HATE Sabine. She is like my worst enemy but you know what I kinda like her for that.... It’s a hate-love thing. I know it sounds really weird how can you hate a character but like them as well? Well you see Rachel made her character so easy to hate and I love that! I love having strong emotions to a character to me it feels like the...more
The Soul Screamers series has absolutely stepped up its game. I haven't really enjoyed the previous two books in the series but I'm glad I didn't stop because My Soul to Steal is amazing. A riveting plot involving mysterious deaths at Kaylee's high school, coupled with the emotional drama between Kaylee, Nash and his ex girlfriend Sabine made for a compelling read that I could not put down. I was another late night for me!

You know those second rated horror/thriller movies, in which there are horrible monsters or terrible conspiracies or both, and the main character totally knows what's going on from the start but not one single person believes her - preferably they even accuse her of delusions and offer professional help - until like 5 minutes before the end, after more than half the cast has died?

Okay here's my problem with this book..... I FREAKING HATE SABINE. She should just go somewhere, anywhere except Nash's arms. And Nash is a freaking idiot for still being her friend, she is a MARA, hello? ARE YOU BLIND? UGH.....
OKAY ALL DONE. But anyway this book was a roller coaster that would not end, I wanted to get off soo bad, sooooo bad. Especially all of the stupid parts were Nash was all "Oh well Sabine needs me right now and I need her." "Oh she jumped me, I did not kiss her back." etc...more

WHAT A ROLLER COASTER RIDE!!!!!! Holy heck.
I can hardly say much without giving it all away, so all I'm going to say is that my heart hurt for most of this book. And I wanted to punch a certain nightmare craphead in the face the whole time. WOWWWW. This is purely an emotional review.
