the stories of 13 virgin saints are summarized with an interesting nonjudgemental approach partnered with the superb illustrations that add a depth to the stories.
giselle potter's writing prose is just as interesting and lovely as her illustrations. i am accustom to her illustrations paired with children's books... this was a nice departure.

Since I was thinking about saint books, I remembered this little gem. This is a masterpiece and extremely quirky. A great example of a marriage between words and pictures. I just love this book - it makes me smile!!!

The illustrations are kind of creepy. This is a good thing, though, as I enjoy the general creepiness associated with saints' tales.
