This book is the first in BV's YA Seeker series. It revolves around Hayley, a teenage girl living an ordinary life, that is until the new guy in school walks into class. Seth is not like other boys, to say the least. Drawn to him, Hayley seeks him out and finds that there is much more to him than meets the eye. He is shrouded by mystery and what she uncovers changes her life forever. Suddenly her loyal friends turn into enemies, her school counselor has it in for her, her new boyfriend is much m ...more

I have mixed feelings about this book. There were good parts and bad parts. Most of the bad parts were just overused cliches. Haley complains a lot about her height. She becomes obsessed with a guy (Seth) she's known only for a week (who of course, just happens to be the best looking thing to ever walk the face of the earth). Bad guy is out to get her and him. Seth claims not to know who the bad guy is, but it is painfully obvious. She lies a lot to her dad even though she claims she never does ...more
Most of this book annoyed me. They only knew each other for a few days but they would say things like "I have never seen him act like that before" and I kept thinking which day Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. It definitely was a mystery. It takes a long time for us to find out what they really are and even though a lot of things are explained there is a lot that is not. So that leads me to believe that there will be a sequel. All and all it was good but not fantastic.
Blood of Gold is the first book of a Young Adult series that left me feeling a little cheated and a little disappointed. I had this book on my kindle for a while and decided to finally check it out.

Unfortunately, there was nothing original in this dark fantasy novel involving a mysterious teenager who shows up at school and seems to be more than..human. Sounds very familiar and very predictable.

In spite of the cliches and the predictability of the plot, I did continue to read, hoping for an un

In the beginning Haley behaved like a stalker and it creeped me out. I was actually thinking of dropping this book. I’m a bit happy that I continued reading, after a break of course, because after she followed him like a stalker to the mountain, I had enough for a while.

After I continued reading the book, Haley actually grew on me. Especially when she realized she WAS behaving like a stalker and when Seth was also interested in her. Although her beha
One of the first things about this book that got to me was the main character, Haley. She was so slow to figure everything out! I mean I know it's supposed to take them some time to figure it out, and unlike the reader she wouldn't have instantly known that the guy she was suddenly interested in was anything but human, but still. All of the signs pointed to one thing and it was almost the end of the book before she had clued in. Slightly frustrating.

I know there are people like this but Brooke (

I just finished this book that was offered to me by Larson a few weeks ago for review and thank God for the offer because I really enjoyed reading the book. The novel tells us a story of Haley and Brooke's life through high school and how it changed with Seth who was the new kid in school. The story starts in a slow pace defining each character and how they are connected to each other. The book also gave a brief history for the characters which is great especially for the first book in a series. ...more

Most of the time when I finish with a book I go one of three ways like most readers do. I either love the book, thought the book was OK - good, but not my favorite, or I know it just wasn't for me. While I liked this book I can't really make up my mind about it completely, not sure what I think. This is the first in a series and at this point I wouldn't mind reading the rest, but I don't know that I'm going to rush to get my copies.

Haley and Seth's story is an interesting concept but I'm just no

Until Seth walks into her art class, Haley is a perfectly normal teenage girl. Suddenly, with the gorgeous new boy who she feels strangely drawn to, everything goes upside down. Friends become enemies, trustworthy adults turn evil and on top of it all, she knows Seth is more than human. And all of this happens in the space of a week!
I have to admit: I was kind of split down the middle as I began to read this book: there were good parts and there were bad parts. The bad parts were mainly

This book is pretty slow. I can't say that I hate it, but it's really not one I fell in love with. I found it hard to stay with in parts and pretty predictable.
I thought it was good, I have a good friend named hailey.. I cant remeber how she spelled it. So it was kind of funny seeing my friend go through all she did.
I am not sure about this one,

Very well written....loved the love story that was intertwined with all the action throughout the book. Can't wait to read the next one!
I didn't really like the writing. I was a little bit bored I wasn't able to join with the characters so I wouldn't recommend it.

This is not as excellent as I thought it would be. I am actually torn. I m not sure if I like it or not....
