This is a good paranormal romance stoyr and a great start for a series. There is a fallen angel, humor, action, evil, demon, and naked hot men. This is one of Stacey Kennedy’s sexier series, so if you like it hot here you go. I found an excellent storyline and its easy explained. I loved the ideal of a seeker having to be paired up or mated with an watcher to find the evil demons.

I haven't seen a series like this one before. It almost reminds me of Shannon K. Butcher's Sentinel's series with the warrior needing his other half and then together they fight demons, but it's not confusing like SKB's.

I liked Paxton right from the start. What might have cinched it would be that no matter how devastatingly sexy a man might be, if he insults her pub, he best get to stepping. Tate though... God help him. Who asks for a favor like that? Guy's got crazy nerve. But hey, when you've got a friend like Pax who will apparently do anything for you, what don't you ask? The man is anything but stupid, and you can't find fault in his protectiveness of sweet, gifted Paxton.

I am a great lover of snark and Stacey Kennedy is most definitely a master of the art of snarkiness. Paxtyn had a mouth on her that wouldn't stop and generally had me doing the fist pump throughout the whole book. Poor Knox, he was from a different era, so snark from a woman was a relatively new concept for him. *snort* Had him doubting his super hunkiness, bless his heart. And Tate, Paxtyn's BFF, yeah, I might have to stalk him a little bit. He was just perfect, easy going but fierce and protective. Mmmmmm. I loved the relationship between Tate and Paxtyn, it definitely added something special to the story. There is just so much about this book to recommend it I want to make sure I don't miss anything. So let's see, snark? check, great heroine? check, abundance of male sexitude? check, really dark and bloody story? ummmm double check, and lest I forget, sizzling hot romance? in spades, baby. It's all there, on every page.

With the amount of books I read, I have to be able to read them rather quickly, but there are some books, where that would just be a sacrilege. A Deadly Whisper falls into that category. I took my time with this book, let the words and story marinate inside my head for a minute or two and then leisurely savored the complex flavors. I wanted time to really get to know the characters and figure out why they did what they did. I really would've like to have seen at least an additional hundred pages to this book, because I think it deserved that kind of detail. *sigh* But I'll take what I can get, I must however insist on Tate's book being longer, maybe a few pictures.......Oh, I know! A centerfold! That would be perfect.(less)

Wow! I was excited to read these two books because I had already read A Warrior's Witch by Stacey Kennedy and completely fell in love with her characters and her writing style, and I was once again totally impressed!

In this series she has created phenomenal characters and has given them a fantastic, well developed plot with a fresh twist on the demon hunter. Her female characters are strong, powerful, funny, passionate, driven to make the world a safer place, sexy, compassionate, and smart. Her male characters are all those same things wrapped in a body to die for, with a sex drive that would make anyone blush, and looking for "the" woman destined to spend eternity with them. Really, who could want more?
Wonderfully written! Exciting to read! She has designed her characters to get under your skin and into your heart, the plot to be heart-stopping and thrilling, combined to leave you unwilling to put the book down until you know that the end is what you are hoping for.

In book one, we see Paxtyn and Knox as the main characters. They are destined to be soul mates and their very lives hinge on one another's existence, but they just can't seem to get it right. It was a laugh out loud, cry for them, emotional rollercoaster from the start. Knox is a Seeker and Paxtyn (unknowingly at first) is a Watcher. Together with the rest of their team/family they hunt demons and attempt to keep mankind safe. Paxtyn is strong willed, independent and not at all sure what Knox is all about. Knox has been looking for his soul mate for an incredibly long time and is completely thrown for a loop when she doesn't seem excited about spending eternity with him. It was fun to watch their struggle and the reactions of the rest of the family, especially when everyone knows how they feel about each other except them. Loads of hot, steamy sex to go along with some discoveries about themselves and each other.

In book two, it is Griffin's turn to find his soul mate; but what he finds in her is a broken shell of a woman who has no true sense of self or self-worth. Stacey Kennedy has once again written a fantastic tale, she is truly gifted! This story is emotion on a stick! Nayeli is an amazing woman; raised with the belief that she was crazy and institutionalized since childhood, Nayeli finds herself in a family who loves and cherishes her while valuing her for her abilities. She has no idea how to cope with any of it after spending the majority of her life believing that she was of no value. This book is more than just the story of a group of super demon hunters and the battle of good versus evil, it is the story of one woman's search to find worth and one man's struggle to help her. I found my heart going out to both Nayeli and Griffin while they forged ahead to conquer not only the demon set on having Nayeli, but to conquer Nayeli's fears and issues before more people die. Not for the weak or sexually sensitive - graphic deaths and hot, hot, hot steamy romance!

A Deadly Whisper, the first book in The Watchers series, introduces us to a world of Watchers and Seekers. Also known as Nephilim, born from fallen angels and humans, they are warriors created to battle against the evil demons plaguing the earth. Together the Watchers and Seekers hunt and capture the demons, banishing them back to the darkness.

Paxtyn has the unique ability to witness people's death first-hand and communicate with the dead's spirits. Wanting to hide what she considers a curse, she tries to live life as normal as she can, even hiding her secret from her best friend and roommate Tate. On a night out she meets Knox, a sexy, mysterious man who captivates her from their first glance and who seems to know more than he should about her well kept secret. What she sees as a casual encounter with Knox soon leads to a life changing revelation for not only Paxtyn but for Tate, as these two are thrown into a world of danger and given a responsibility greater than they ever imagined.

While I had a hard time becoming fully invested in Pax as the heroine, especially when it comes to her relationship with Knox, I did enjoy her spitfire personality. She hasn't had the easiest life with her "gift" and has succeeded in being pretty "normal" which is pretty admirable but I think it's her insecurities that are her downfall as a character. While I wasn't completely taken by Paxtyn, I have to admit that the sexual tension between her and Knox had me biting my nails in anticipation! Stacey Kennedy is magnificent at sizzling chemistry and Pax and Knox are no exception.

Knox is just as insecure as Paxtyn when it comes to matters of the heart which can become a bit frustrating, but when they finally get their act together it's magic! He is a bit of a tortured hero but is the sexy Alpha hero we crave in paranormal romance. Knox really gets more than he bargained for with Paxtyn's fiesty personality, learning that he can't shelter her from the dangers they face and that he must see her as an equal if their relationship is going to truly work. Seeing the strong Alpha being told what to do by his woman is always a great thing in my book and Pax and Knox did not disappoint.

The second man in Paxtyn's life (after she meets Knox), the BFF Tate, is quite entertaining and full of charisma. We get to see the bad-ass cop who enjoys women in this book but there is also an endearing side to him that you get small glimpses of here and there, especially in his friendship with Paxtyn. He's one character I'd like to get to know more of. And lastly are Knox's brothers and the other female Watcher Daleyn, who are briefly introduced and who left me wanting more, I really hope we get to know more about them throughout the series.

The world building in this book is quite imaginative and a real fresh take on angels and demons. Ms. Kennedy has a knack for reinventing the paranormal and making you fall in love with the genre all over again! A little shorter than I would have wanted, but full of action, romance and danger that will pull you in and make it hard to say goodbye. A Deadly Whisper is a great introduction to this dark, yet sexy world of The Watchers series that is sure to be another hit for this gifted author!

It was love at first word. This book has everything I love in a good urban/PNR romance: a sassy heroine, a sexy hero, sexual tension/ romance, danger and tons of action. It’s no surprise that I love the way Ms. Kennedy can tell a story—especially a paranormal one. This book had a little bit of building at the beginning that was a bit confusing to work through, but after I moved past the first few chapters it definitely grabbed a hold of me. Another great book. This book is one you honestly can not put down. You have to read to see when these 2 main characters will stop thinking the other dislikes them and finally realize they are both crazy for another. I could see why they thought that way but I was going insane with the tension.

Oh wow !! where do I start !!! This book was fast paced, full of action, romance and suspense. I was intrigued and mesmirized by the world that Stacey created around the Watcher and seekers and evil that lurked. The characters hot and sexy !! Inition wow !! that was a treat ! The descriptions were fantastic - even as to the smells, surroundings and physical attributes this was just mind blowing ! I felt like I was a watcher on the side lines, gasping , holding my breaths and smiling all in one book. The love between the Watchers and seekers was sensual, romantic and very loving. The sex scenes sensual, hot and definetly scorching .. The characters bonds very heart warming - to help each other till death and to defend good over evil. So many great characters in one book, Im not sure I could pick one I loved the most !! hmmm Well I must say KNox knocked my socks off .. I liked Paxyton's hot headed attitude, kick arse, defiant and this will be a treat to read in the further series, the conflict of interest between her and Knox. Pax wanting to help him- and him wanting her on the side lines. Overall a book filled with all the goodies to get your heart racing, you holding your breath , and your pulse racing at 100 miles per hour..
A great start to the watcher series and I look forward to more .

She writes amazing stories filled with passion, romance and intense sensuality between the two leading characters as she weaves them through storylines that are every readers dream. As a huge fan of urban fantasy and paranormal romance, I found out that Stacey also had an erotic series out and when I looked it up found this book, A DEADLY WHISPER. The blurb SCREAMED at me to buy the book and what can I say - the rest was history. Hours later, the book was finished and I was left with a HUGE sigh and grin on my face.

I really loved the concept for the storyline of the book. A DEADLY WHISPER shares the story of Paxtyn, a young woman with a secret – she sees people’s death. She could be anywhere, doing anything and be drawn to a place only to have those last few moments of a person’s life unfold before her. She’s been treated as crazy all her life and so has kept it to herself but early on in the story, she shares it with her best friend Tate and later Knox, the man that has waited forever to find her. Paxtyn is at first shocked and then relieved to discover her ability to see the final death of people isn’t a curse but something that is needed in fighting the war against hideous demons from Hell. She is a Watcher, a female descendant from angels who when paired together with her Seeker, the deliciously hunky Knox, helps rid the world of the creatures that prey and feast on humans. Being the other half of a complete pair, Knox opens up a new world to Paxtyn filled with purpose as well as introducing her to complete passion. Doesn’t that sound like an AMAZING story? It was filled with interesting detail, making it easy for me to imagine those scenes where Paxtyn faces the demons she’s sent out to find. Everything was so visually descriptive which came in real handy during the HOT and SPICY eyebrow raising scene where Knox helps Paxtyn through her first ritual. One thing you can say for the author is she sure knows how to deliver *wink wink*

Like all relationships, there were kinks to be worked out between Knox and Paxtyn and I loved the different approach the author took with this couple. I will admit it did throw me a little and made me worry because I’m used to the author’s other characters acting pretty quickly on their attraction. Poor Knox and Paxtyn suffered from a BAD case of “Why doesn’t he/she like me?” when really there was A LOT of mixed signals and misunderstanding. It made for interesting reading and a lot of groaning from me. I was ready to jump into the story and play relationship counselor and tell Paxtyn to stop being so snappy but you know what? The bigger the conflict, the greater the tension, the more INCREDIBLE it is when they FINALLY got it. I was cheering and laughing, tears in my eyes saying “About time guys!! Now hurry up you got lots of hot catch up sex to have!” *gasp did I say that?* When both these great characters were finally in sync with each other, they were beautiful together. Knox was the strong protective alpha and Paxtyn was the strong opinionated heroine that did what she needed to but did a perfect job of soothing her man’s ego. (because we all know that those hunky alphas can be a wee bit demanding) By the end of the book, I was completely satisfied and ready for more.

Despite my slight pause, I loved reading this book and it continued to prove to me that Stacey Kennedy is one heck of a writer. She has an incredible imagination, coming up with a fresh storyline that has me waiting impatiently for any new releases to this series. A new book crush was born from Paxtyn’s best friend Tate (that man was seriously S.E.X.Y) and so *hint hint* if there is a new one coming *hint hint* let’s hope he’s the next one up LOL. Do yourself a favor – buy every book you can find by this author, starting with this one because they’re filled with great sizzling romance. Happy reading!

I gave Ms. Kennedy’s book, The Willow, a hard time when I reviewed it. There were things about it that I found difficult to take. This book, however, A Deadly Whisper, published by Cobblestone Press is not going to get any trouble from me. It is utterly fantastic!

I liked this book a lot and look forward to reading more of the series. I don't really get why it's been shelved as erotica because it really isn't. There is sex in the book but I've read a lot of erotica and this book was more in line with a modern standard romance. I liked the whole seeker to watcher soul mate set up. I'm a fan of fated mate story lines. I docked it a star because I wish it was longer to give more set up to the worl she was setting up and more character developement.

I liked the book. Definietly worth reading the next one in the series. I just get fustrated with back and forth of: why doesn't he/she like me. If it's mentioned more than twice it really starts to get to me and seems redundant, especfially in the shorter books
