All I can say is that Jaime Rush sure can write. I love her novels. I must admit that I have always been a big Eric fan since book one. He is the jerk of the group. But in this book and pairing him up with Fonda was just great to me. You get to see a whole other side besides him being always angry. I love that their tender moments not just with Fonda who lets face it needs it greatly but also with his sisters and the other Offsprings. I must admit since it had been awhile between books I forgot ...more

Burning Darkness is the 4th full length book in Jaime Rush's Offspring Series. This is Eric Aruda and Fonda Raine's story. Readers first meet Eric in the first book Touching Darkness. Eric Aruda is part of a group of men and women whose parents were part of a government experiment. These people all inherited special powers from their parents. Eric can set people on fire and remote view another person. He meets up with Fonda Raine when she sets up a clandestine meeting with the intent to kill him ...more

This was my favorite book in this series so far! I’ve been dying for Eric’s story for a while and not only did Jaime deliver it, she also blew me away with the revelations she made in this novel.

Eric has been the bad boy among the heroes of this series since book one. He is always the bloodthirsty one, the one ready to get physical and solve things the most violent way possible or even simply set his

Totally Captivating and HOT!

Wow, I was totally swept away just after reading the first chapter. What an exciting fast paced and fast action - kicking ass throughout the whole book that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Fonda is one tough little chick and the romance between her and Eric is out of this world. I totally fell in love with Eric Aruda, I mean “What a Man, What a Man, What a Mighty Good Man!” TOTALLY HOT!

Burning Darkness is the fourth book in Jaime Rush's incredible Offspring series.

Eric Aruda and Fonda Raine are both Offspring, children of a mysterious experiment gone awry. All of the Offspring have psychic powers; Eric has pyrokenesis and Fonda is able to astral project. Of all of the characters in the series, Eric is by far my favorite and I couldn't wait to FINALLY read his story. Hell who wouldn't love a guy who when asked what his power is said "I set people on fire"? HEE HEE

Jaime Rush's latest offering is a delightful combination of sweet romance and action-packed suspenseful moments.

Fonda Raine is out to kill Eric Aruda, who'd torched her boyfriend. However, she didn't account for her attraction to him, and when a common enemy shows up, they must team up as they fight for their lives and that of their friends...

Fonda is on a mission, a mission of death. Fonda is tough and strong but she also has a softer side, which is what you see right from the start with her interactions with George. When Fonda goes into a meditation ethereal state, Fonda can astral project, she cases out Eric who is the target of her mission, she finds herself attracted to him, desiring him as he desires her; she decides to use it to her advantage. Finally Eric is getting his chance for love. I have always liked Eric and we finally see a totally different side of him from the Hard ass tough guy he has been through out the series. Fonda defiantly isn't who we thought she was and I enjoyed watching her and Eric bring each others true selves out. There is plenty of action, romance and twists to keep you turning the pages. I liked learning all the new info given about the offspring's and how

Fonda Raine is feeling a lot of rage toward Eric Aruda. He killed her boyfriend and managed to get away scot free. Witnessing the death of the only man she has ever felt close to sends Fonda over the edge. She has one mission and that is to get revenge. Fonda waits to approach Eric when his guard is down the most. She astral projects herself into his room at night, convincing him at first she is just a hallucination. Once Fonda prepares hers
This book continued the large leap that the last book made. We know now that the whole thing behind Blue Moon and the Offspring is aliens. We learn more on this front and I think that we will continue to with the series. I do find it intriguing what we have learned so far.

One aspect of this book I had a hard time buying into with this book was the change in Fonda. She went from hating Eric, to the point that it is her mission to kill him, to falling in love with him, in a matter of days. While I

Once again, Jaime Rush delivers an action packed, well written, and extraordinary novel. Like the rest of the series, this will keep you intrigued, addicted, and on the edge of your seat. Eric Aruda is hot (in every sense of the word) and can set fires with his mind. He is part of a group of people who all have supernatural abilities and are being hunted because of them. Fonda Raine is not a part of that group, in fact she is one of the people trying to hunt them down. After a messy encounter wi ...more
We start this book with Fonda who is on a mission to kill Eric Aruda. He set her lover of fire... whilst they were having sex! Ouch!

I didn't like Eric at the beginning of this series, he was so impulsive and dangerous. You could never really tell if he was a good guy or not. But we slowly saw the softer side of him, painting his sisters nails and the lighter humour he shares with his friends.
Throughout the series he made it very clear to all of them what he thought about them all falling in

A lot of questions get addressed in the 4th installment to the Offspring series. We finally learn where the offspring get there powers from, who's after them, and will they finally get to live a fugitive free life. Offspring Fonda Raines, who worked for the enemey, has set her sites on getting revenge on Eric after he kills the love of her life. When the time comes to kill Eric she finds that she can't do it. This novel is a page-turner thriller that perfectly incorporates superhuman abilities, with a science fiction oriented government conspiracy and a dash of steamy romance. From the onset I was hooked on the world created by Rush as well as the characters and first rate story telling.

Fonda Raine has hated Eric Aruda ever since she learned of his and his friend's existence while working for a secret government agency. Her job was to track down Eric and his friends, who all have varying types of psychic abilities, and eliminate them. Her hatred grew the minute Eric killed the man she loved, and now that the agency she worked for has been destroyed, she's going after him on her own. But the minute she has him in her grasp is the moment an assassin shows up to kill them both. Fr ...more

Wow, I think I swallowed the sun!

BURNING DARKNESS was sooooo super hot and emotionally engaging on all levels.

The brilliance of the offspring books pertains to how expertly Jaime weaves their “ability” as something they must accept and learn before it becomes their strength. This really gives me a chance to connect and root for her characters!

…and what an amazing read! As a fan of the Offspring series, I couldn’t wait to see how Jaime Rush finds Eric a match for his fiery disposition. Imagine m

Excellent!! This is my favorite one of this series so far, Eric has always been a hard pain-in-the-ass character that you love to hate. And now we get to see him come undone, face his demons, and help Fonda overcome hers. All while on the run and trying to kill off their enemies. A lot gets answered in this book, and it seems almost like this could be the end of the story. But no, Rush has more for us to read. This book was a page-turning addiction for me, reading it all in one day. Eric and Fon ...more
This is a page-turner novel. It is filled with conspiracy, danger, romance and love. Eric Aruda is one of the most dangerous Offspring. He shows very little compassion or concern for people. His view of love is that it only gets in the way. But after meeting Fonda Raine, he finds that maybe he was wrong. Maybe there is something about finding the right person. He soon finds himself fighting two dangerous battles. One with his heart, the other for the lives of his Offspring family.

A new must read series for me. This is the fourth book in this series and I would recommend reading this series in order as there were a couple of times I found myself lost with some character interactions.

I love reading paranormal romances and this series is right up my alley. Fonda's need for revenge against Eric - coupled with their immediate attraction provided an unbelievable roller-coaster of intense emotions and sexual chemistry. Once I started reading it I couldn't stop.

I'm torn between this novel. On one hand I found it enjoyable, the romance and the interaction between the main characters were entertaining and managed to distract from the plot holes and illogical behaviors, but by the end of the novel the badly constructed plot became horribly evident. While I was still sucked in by the h/h it really did detract from the overall impact of the novel.

This was the best book in the series so far. I've loved the relationship between Eric & Fonda & even liked the side story between Amy & Lucas.

Eric being the hard ass & always looking out for everyone in the group. Never fully understanding why his 'people' would risk falling in love given their situation until he meets Fonda; a female version of him.

From the get go; this book is fast paced from one scene to the next with sarcasm in the right spots.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book
I couldn't wait to read this latest installment of the Offspring series and bought it as soon as it came out. Of course I read it straight through in one day. I loved all of the usual Offspring offerings- drama, suspense, intriguing character romance, but I was really thrown by the final spin. I'm still trying to sort through this odd turn of events. I watch the TV show "Fringe" and enjoy that, I just wasn't expecting the Offspring series to overlap with it... I think I'll have to wait it out an ...more

I was really happy to see how the story of Eric and Fonda played out. It was interesting to me that the rest of the Offspring were relegated to major secondary (maybe even terciary) characters. So much of the background informtion on the Offspring is revealed in this story. As a reader I appreciate it when an author doesn't string me along forever just because they can. Obviously what is revealed isn't enough to end the series and there are additional books.

I'm, looking forward
My advice is to read these books in order. I read this one, the forth book in the series, first and there were so many characters and it was obviously a continuation of a much bigger story arc that I felt like I was only getting half the story. Fonda's early obession with killing Eric and avenging her "great love" were irritating but I get the feeling it may have made more sense if I had read teh earlier books first. I did enjoy the fast pace action and the later relationship that developed betw ...more
Okay 4.5 stars for this one. I knew it had to come out okay, but I was still wondering most of the way throughout how that would actually happen. With each story, I get more and more attached to the characters. In the beginning, I was not sure I liked Eric at all. This story with Eric and Fonda was wonderful. You saw them both, flaws and all, and loved them. I am only sad that I teach and then work the next three days...making it difficult to get started on Petra's story :(
