I'm a huge sucker for back story, so I knew right away when I heard of this series I'd be owning the books right away, and this one had me compelled right from the beginning

Im ersten Teil war Stefan einfach nur überragend, stark, unbesiegbar und derjenige der alles im Griff hat = Fazit eifach alles super und logisch. Im zweiten Teil mutiert er dann zum Weich-Witz-Ling!! Er ist schwach, hilflos und muss am laufenden Band betüttelt werden!! Am Anfang des Buches zeigt sich der Ripper den wir Stefan fans so lieben und ein paar Seiten weiter fragt man sich plötzlich ob ein paar Seiten im Buch fehlen, weil es einfach keinen Sinn mehr macht!!

Bei Damon der kein Vampir sein will, einfach nur sterben will und auf Stefan's Hilfe angewiesen ist, fragt man sich nach kurzer Zeit schon ob die Autorin ausversehen im falschen Buch weitergeschrieben hat oder ob sie kurzzeitig eine Kopfverletzung erlitten hat!! Blättert man von einer zu nächsten Seite ist Damon plötzlich der King, der es allen zeigen will und er ist ja sooo stark und Stefan ist dann aufeinmal der Hiflose und das Vampir Dasein is ja so schön!!Es besteht kein Zusammenhang zwischen dem Denken und Handeln der Personen und ihrem Charakter!!

Dann gibt es ja noch die die sagen Stefan ist ja so böse und Damon ja gar nicht und es ist ja wieso alles Stefan's Schuld!! HALLO, Stefan wollte auch kein Vampir sein, aber er hat wenigstens versucht sich mit seinem neunen Dasein abzufinden und hätte Damon seinem Bruder zur Seite gestanden, wäre die Ripper Sache auch nie so eskaliert!!

Also zu meinem Schlusswort: Stefan and Damon Fans sollten den ersten Teil "Am Anfang der Ewigkeit" unbedingt lesen, da er die enge Bindung der Brüder zeigt. Liest man dagegen den zweiten scheint diese Bindung nie vorhanden gewesen zu sein!! Also Band 2 ist ein NO GO!!(less)

Ich bin ein bekennender Fan von Lisa J. Smith! Ihre Buchreihe Tagebuch eines Vampirs hat mich gut unterhalten können und ich mag ihren Schreibstil. Die gleichnamige Serie, die ein paar Jahre nach Ersterscheinung verfilmt wurde, ist jedoch so komplett anders als die Bücher. Als L.J. Smith dann aus ihrer eigenen Serie gefeuert wurde, weil sich ihr Pairing in eine andere Richtung entwickelte, als es die Fans von der TV-Serie Vampire Diaries wollten, wurde damit auch die Buchreihe getötet - meiner Meinung nach. Denn nach Band sieben, ab "Jagd im Abendrot" schreibt ein Ghostwriter weiter, auch wenn noch Lisa J. Smith auf dem Buch steht.
Das selbe gilt auch für die Buchreihe Stefan's Diaries, die anders als die bisherigen Bücher auf der TV-Serie basiert. Wie ich nun in Band zwei "Nur ein Tropfen Blut" feststellen durfte, mischt sich allerdings auch hier die TV-Serie mit anderen völlig neuen Handlungssträngen.

Vom ersten Band "Am Anfang der Ewigkeit" war ich begeistert, denn ich wollte schon immer Stefan's Sicht der Dinge kennen lernen, wie er seine Verwandlung erlebt, was er selbst danach tut und wie sich seine Zukunft für ihn anfühlt.
Auch Band zwei hat mich begeistert und die Vertrautheit mischt sich mit etwas völlig Neuem. So werden auch Kritiker zum Schweigen gebracht, die meinen die Geschichte schon zu kennen. Den Leuten sei gesagt: Ihr wisst gar nichts. ;-)

Stefan zieht seinen Bruder mit sich, genießt es völlig ungeniert Blut trinken zu können und ergötzt sich an der Macht, die er gegenüber den Menschen hat. Dass er ein Mörder ist, scheint ihn stolz zu machen und er will die Welt erobern. Wäre da nicht sein Bruder Damon, der dieses Vampirleben nicht wollte, der von Stefan dazu gezwungen wurde, in dem er seiner Verwandlung den letzten Schliff gab.
Auf dem Weg nach New Orleans, auf der Flucht vor der Heimat, wo sie als Dämonen gejagt werden, will Stefan neu beginnen, auch wenn Damon nicht die gleichen Zukunftsansichten hat, lässt er sich mitziehen.
Doch in New Orleans angekommen, muss Stefan schnell merken, dass ihm die Welt nicht gehört, als er von drei anderen Vampiren in die Mangel genommen wird. Sein Leben könnte so schnell vorbei sein, wäre da nicht das blonde Vampirmädchen...

Vom Schreibstil kann ich absolut nicht meckern. Ich war sofort wieder in der Geschichte drin und konnte nur die ganze Zeit mit dem Kopf schütteln. Wenn man Stefan als den loyalen Kerl kennt, der dem Menschenblut entsagt hat, ist es erstmal wieder eine krasse Umstellung ihn als völliges Gegenteil erleben zu müssen. Er ist ein skurpelloses Monster und Damon ist der Vernünftige, der all das nicht gewollt hat und immer noch seiner Geliebten Katherine hinterhertrauert.
Die Geschichte ist packend und spannend erzählt, wenn auch teilweise etwas zu schnell und holprig, aber dennoch unterhaltsam. Stefan's Entwicklung schreitet hingegen nur schwer voran, wohingegen sich Damon schnell auf die düstere Seite schlägt. Das Warum ist mir nur gut verständlich und auch wenn Serie und Buch wenig gemeinsam haben, passte es einfach zu den echten Stefan und Damon. Die Schauspieler haben in meinem Kopf die Plätze der Charaktere eingenommen und das ist zum Glück mal nichts schlechtes. ^^

"Stefan's Diaries - Nur ein Tropfen Blut" passt absolut zu den Handlungen. Denn auch wenn es immer heißt Blut sei dicker als Wasser, so hat es auch was selbstzerstörrerisches und herrisches an sich.

Fazit:
Absolut nicht langweilig, mit hohem Wiedererkennungswert, aber dennoch anders als erwartet.

This volume takes place in New Orleans, Lousiana. It's entitled "Bloodlust" because both Stefan and Damon are newborn vampires and when you're a newborn vampire you have bloodlust cravings for human blood. I always wonder how Damon turned out to be THE DAMON we see in the TV series. This novel provides the background to this mystery and reveals the beginning of the brotherly feud.

I meant it in the best possible way, I like her books and want those that have her name on them to be good and to continue to be published. It feels like she's going off track and maybe her heart just isn't in this series anymore. I meant it in the best possible way, I like her books and want those that have her name on them to be good and to continue to be published. It feels like she's going off track and maybe her heart just isn't in this series anymore. Her other stuff is dying for some attention where as people working on this series on tv are doing a good job with saving it in my eyes. This book / line in the series is a good example of that. With the newer "Return" line of the series (which she is writing) I feel like I am reading because I have some sick devotion to the series, a "well I have to know what happens to the characters I love" thing.. But this (which she isn't writing) well I sincerely can't get enough.

It's a darker and grittier story than the books usually have been but very much in line with the television show. They are newly made. Loving the fact that they'll be young and beautiful and powerful forever. Hating it. Feeling betrayed. Wanting to kill kill kill. And not wanting to, preferring to die themselves. Oh wait, that's just Damon.

Yes, we learn how they change. How they become who they are as we see them today (again I cannot say this enough - this particular series is clearly meant for fans of the tv show but works for fans of the main book series too). The plot of this one is simple - the boys have been run out of town for being demons. Damon wants to die, resenting what Stefan has made him, resents the loss of Katherine, is angry, depressed, sulking, etc. Stefan, however, is enjoying his new life. They catch a train to New Orleans but split up once there as their different ideas of being a vampire and all of the anger are no good. Of course, nothing ever just ends just like that. One of them ends up captured and in danger. The other must play the hero. Along the way they must decide what it means to be vampire. If they have any humanity left. If vampires and humans can mix. If they're even still brothers and friends.

I cannot wait for the third one. The best thing L.J. Smith did was let someone write this line for her. I hope she's off pushing for the newest Night World novel to get to us or even something new as she's brilliant when she's doing her thing, same as whoever took this one over is. 5/5 stars(less)

Lepší než první díl a i když to mělo své nedostatky, líbilo se mi to. Hlavně proto, že jsem opravdu velká fanynka seriálu. Konečně se dozvídáme něco nového, něco, co ze seriálu neznáme. Například se dozvíme, jak Stefan po své proměně žil, jak poznal Lexi, atd. Škoda jen, že tam bylo tak málo Damona, protože Stefan mě někdy opravdu přiváděl k šílenství, pro mě je to prostě úplný psychopat, narozdíl od Damona, který prostě ví, co chce... I actually really enjoyed this one!

This is because the first one was so utterly boring that I felt kind of stubborn to even start this one. But it was really amazing.
Stefan was really amazing in this one and the transition from Damon's nice to mean is amazing.
Though, the transition from Stefan's mean to nice was awesome too. :)

Finding out that Stefan actually found another love is really interesting and it was so sad when Damon killed her! I really liked Callie!

Přesto si ale myslím, že se tato knižní skutečnost o něco liší. Je sice pravda, že jsem dříve Upíří deníky sledovala, ale skončila jsem již dávno a nevím, co mi ze seriálové skutečnosti uteklo, a co naopak ne. Přesto si ale myslím, že se tato knižní skutečnost o něco liší. Což mi ale vůbec nevadí, protože takhle se mi to opravdu líbilo.

Je to sice zvláštní, ale tato špatná strana Stefana mi sedí mnohem víc než ta dobrá, protože ta na mě působí trochu škrobeně a nepřirozeně - což znamená, že změnou jeho škrobené a trochu hloupoučké osobnosti jsem k němu začala chovat jisté sympatie. Na druhou stranu mi ale neseděl ten zlomený Damon, který se akorát tak litoval. Není to tak, že bych Damona nechápala. Chápu ho až moc dobře a je jisté, že mu ani trochu nepřispělo to, že ho Stefan donutil, aby se přeměnil v upíra, ale přesto je lepší to jeho špatné já, které nám ukázal například na konci toho dílu.

Když se na to kouknu z té dějové stránky, v tomto díle jsem měla pocit, že všechno mnohem lépe plyne. Jedna událost střídala druhou a autoři nám nabídli vcelku širokou paletu nových postav, které měly zajímavé charaktery, které bylo možno postupně objevovat - i když se tam objevili jen na chvíli, bylo nám umožněno podívat se o něco blíže na jejich příběh.

Na rozdíl od předešlého dílu tu byla i spousta zajímavých nápadů, které mohly být dále rozvíjeny a cením si toho, že mě jako u většiny knih tolik nezklamal konec. Tady mě na druhou stranu potěšil, protože se objevilo to pravé Damonovo já, které jsem si v seriálech tak moc zamilovala.

U tohoto dílu mě opravdu překvapil překlad, protože jsem neměla sebemenší problém s žádnými slovy, která by mi nešla do hlavy a dokonce jsem si zvykla i na oslovení "brácho", které mi do dané doby nějak moc nesedí. Stefanovy myšlenky začaly konečně dávat smysl a jeho všudypřítomná chuť na krev byla příjemnou změnou od neustálého vzdychání nad Katherininou láskou.

Když to sečtu a podtrhnu, tento díl byl mnohem lepší než ten předchozí, ale na druhou stranu mě k sobě nedokázal tolik připoutat. Zrození jsem přečetla takřka jedním dechem (sama to moc nechápu, protože ten díl se mi vážně moc nelíbil), ale přečtení tohoto mi trvalo až příliš dlouho. Kniha mě překvapila i trochu zklamala průběhem událostí, ale konec, který sice nebyl úplně domyšlený, mě potěšit dokázal. Přesto dávám krásné tři hvězdičky, protože to bylo lepší než předchozí díl, ale stále to není čtení, u kterého byste nedočkavě hltali každou stránku, abyste se konečně dozvěděli, jak příběh dopadne. Naopak. Stránky otáčíte pouze ze setrvačnosti, protože to chcete mít za sebou a možná jste trochu zvědaví na to, jak to s hrdiny dopadne. (less)

These books are doing a great job at tying up loose ends from flashbacks we saw on the show. They give a better idea of how Stefan and Damon came to be...but I really like this one because it went into the Lexi Story and that's something the show didn't give much details on. Although, I do remember how the show portrayed how Stefan met Lexi, but it's different here in the book. I wasn't expecting the whole story tied in with Damon in this one...I fe...more

Das Buch beschreibt die "ersten Gehversuche" von Stefan in seiner neuen Welt als Vampir, vor welchen Problemen er steht und welche neuen Bekanntschaften er macht. Auch wird das Verhältnis zu seinem Bruder Damon thematisiert und ändert sich im Laufe des Buchs doch sehr stark.

Im Gegensatz zum ersten Buch dieser Reihe spielt diese auch nicht mehr in Mystic Falls und es kommen viele neue Charaktere, die teilweise auch schon in der Serie vorkamen, vor.

I really enjoyed the second installment of Stefan's Diaries. It's wonderful to be able to see the past and the strain on the relationship between Stefan & Damon; rather just tuning into the televison series where you gather that they have had their disagreements and have their reason's to dislike each other but obviously it cannot be described to the extent of the books. I would have liked to have seen more interaction between Stefan & Lexi, but i gather we will see more (I hope) in book...more

I really like this 'spinoff' series of 'The Vampire Diares' books because they relate more to the show than the original Vampire Diaries books. When I read the original series they were really different from the show and I want really a fan of them, but these books are in a whole other perspective and that's what I like about them. Interesting but details in this spin off (I guess you would call it) are very different than the vampire diaries. Big differences description details like hair color, places, its kind of like the whole series is wrote to for the t.v show. Which makes me mad, sell out... why would u change everything about the main characters? The original series was wrote in 1992 the Tv show started around 2009-2010. I'm sure there's a million actors and actresses that actually match the characters in the book....more

Oh cheesy, cheesy, cheesarific! I have gotten sucked into the Vampire Diaries T.V. series. So has my husband (shh!). My favorite character is Damon. So, for Valentine's Day we went to Borders and had 20 minutes and 15.00 to find a book for each other. This is what Nic picked for me. The wait for season 3 of the Vampire Diaries (CW 7pm Thursdays this fall starting Sept 15)is about to get the better of me. These books are helping. I love that they fill in the gaps in the tv show. V prvom diely sme sa s bratmi Salvatorovcami rozlúčili tesne po ich premene na upírov. Túžba po krvi začína len pár dní po tejto udalosti, ktorá zásadne zasiahla do ich životov. Stefan začína pridávať na svoj povestný zoznam prvé obete a Damon stále tvrdohlavo odmieta svoje nové Ja. Dej sa rozprúdi v momente, keď sa chlapci ocitnú na pohrebe vlastného otca, kde si ich ľudia samozrejme všimnú a spoznajú ich. Nasleduje naháňačka a rýchle rozhodnutie nastúpiť do najbližšieho vlaku smerujúceho do Ne...more V prvom diely sme sa s bratmi Salvatorovcami rozlúčili tesne po ich premene na upírov. Nasleduje naháňačka a rýchle rozhodnutie nastúpiť do najbližšieho vlaku smerujúceho do New Orleans. V tomto meste nových nepoznaných možností sa bratia rozdelia, pretože Damon už viac nedokáže znášať fakt, že tak ako si Janíčko s Marienkou značili cestu odrobinkami chleba, tak jeho podarený braček necháva za sebou jednu mŕtvolu za druhou. Vtedy sa všetko zvrtne. Stefan spozná Lexi, ktorá ho naučí slušným spôsobom a Damon padne do zajatia, ktoré v ňom prebudí skutočného netvora.

Kým prvá kniha sa zameriavala predovšetkým na Katherine, táto si vzala na mušku Stefanov vzťah k Damonovi. Dej sa točí okolo toho, ako sa ho pokúša vyslobodiť z rúk ziskuchtivého a prefíkaného cirkusového principála. Pritom sa učí ovládať nekonečnú túžbu po ľudskej krvi a spoznáva svoju prvú skutočnú lásku, ktorá mu však, bohužiaľ, aj Damonovým pričinením dlho nevydrží.

Čo sa týka Stefana, zo seriálu som mala pocit, že jeho šnúra vrážd a bezhlavého krviprelievania trvala dlhšie ako pár dní. Rovnako sa zdalo, že upíria odvykačka je tiež dlhodobá záležitosť, ale v knihe to zvládol ľavou zadnou, akoby vlastne o nič nešlo. Dúfam, že v nasledujúcich dieloch ešte spoznáme Stefana Rozparovača, s ktorým je určite väčšia zábava ako so Stefanom Všetko-je-to-moja-vina-som-strašná-príšera.

Najväčším potešením celej knihy bola Lexi. Napriek tomu, že sa v seriály príliš dlho neohriala, musel si ju obľúbiť každý divák. Preto bolo dobrým ťahom odhaliť kúsok aj z jej života. Čitateľ sa dozvie, ako sa vlastne stala upírom a prečo funguje len na zvieracej krvi. Tu musím poukázať na rozpor so seriálom, v ktorom sa táto postava vyjadrila, že síce skúšala "zvieraciu diétu", ale vydržala jej len tri týždne. Zrejme nemôžeme očakávať zhodu v každom detaile.

Druhou príjemnou postavou bola zase Callie. Tak veľmi sa odlišuje od Eleny, že si okamžite získala moje srdce. Je múdra, odvážna a hlavne rozvážna. Hoci pri pomyslení na to, že sa zamilovala do upíra, by ste túto časť mojej charakteristiky mohli aj spochybniť, nerobte to, kým si knihu neprečítate a skutočne Callie nespoznáte.

No a nakoniec, nemôžem zabudnúť na Damona. V tejto knihe som konečne pochopila, prečo sa hlavne zo začiatku seriálu správal tak chladne, bezhlavo a kruto. Väznenie, mučenie a zápasy s divými šelmami na život a na smrť by zmenili aj toho najväčšieho ľudomila a nemožno sa Damonovi ani diviť, že svojho brata kvôli tomu znenávidel.

Menším sklamaním bola nie príliš strhujúca zápletka, dej bol až príliš priamočiary a nebyť trochu akcie a prekvapivého zakončenia, bol by druhý diel len slabým odvarom toho prvého. Takto si zachoval aspoň trochu dôstojnosti a drží sa v závese za svojím predchodcom. Pokiaľ ste fanúšikmi seriálu, po knihe určite siahnite, aspoň sa dozviete viac o svojich obľúbených hrdinoch a ich ťažkých upírskych začiatkoch.(less)

Stefane kde jsi?

Celým příběhem nás provází Stefan Salvatore, jedna z hlavních postav. Vždycky jsem byla team Damon, a v téhle knize se mi to jen potvrdilo. Stefan je v seriálu ten hodný. Ten, co se vždycky zachová nesobecky a správně. Zato jeho minulost je jak se ukázalo opravdu temná. Stefan jako začínající upír se chová bezohledně a chladnokrevně zabíjí kdy se mu zachce. Žádné emoce, žádné slitování. Za to Damon-v seriálu bad guy je v tomhle díle ten co ví co chce, a odolává vábení lidské krve-tedy do doby než se nakrmí... Nová postava-seriálovým nadšencům ale věrně známá je Lexi. Stará-a tedy i velmi silná upírka, která se vzdala pití lidské krve, a naučí ovládnout se i Stefana. Lexi mám opravdu ráda, protože mi připomíná kamarádku :) Sebevědomá, vytrvalá, přesně ví co chce.

Brácho, pozor rozrazil!
Zase se ale dostává na řadu překlad. Rozrazil místo sporýše-tak na to jsem si už zvykla, ale v tomhle díle byla ještě jedna věc, která mi doslova "rvala oči" a to označení brácho. Ne jenom, že pochybuji, že v té době tohle slovíčko znali, ale já jsem si i dala tu práci, a vyhledala originál, kde se jasně píše brother-tedy mnohem více příhodný by byl překlad bratře. Navíc. Damon, který Stefana nenávidí, tak bych se opravdu divila, kdyby mu říkal brácho. Je to sice maličkost, ale v knize se vyskytuje opravdu hodně krát, a tak je to opravdu občas až nervy drásající.
Celkové hodnocení
I přes mírné nesrovnalosti v překladu se mi kniha četla velice lehce, a za necelé dvě hodiny jsem ji měla přečtenou. Líbila se mi mnohem víc než první díl. I když na pět hvězdiček není, (hlavně kvůli Stefanovy) tak to určitě není žádný propadák, a to hlavně proto, že jsme se dozvěděli konečně něco nového, co nevíme ani ze seriálu, ani z knih Upíří deníky. Zjistili jsme, jak Stefan začínal se svou "dietou", jak poznal Lexi, i jaké by to bylo, kdyby byl Damon ten hodný-brrr. Co se týče Damona, bylo ho tu ale málo. Myslím, že je mnohem zajímavější postava než Stefan, a vůbec bych se nebránila třeba Damonovým deníkům :)) Co se týče obálky, tak té nemám co vytknou, protože je naprosto úžasná, takže obrovská pochvala pro nakladatelství Framgnet -zase jste potěšili čtenáře :) Mnohem lepší než originál, kdy se jen snažili "napodobit" sérii Upíří deníky- a i lepší než první díl. Takže kniha se mi velmi líbila, a nemůžu se dočkat na třetí díl :)
