This is a book that the 9-12 year old boys will like. Girls will like the adventure as well, but the story involves a group of kids – 3 boys, 1 girl, and so I would recommend it more for boys (since there are less boy main characters out there). The main character, Tommy, is someone that young boys can both look up to and identify with. He’s a good kid, trying to do the right thing, so parents will like this as well.

I won Secrets of the Magical Medallions from First Reads. I look forward to reading it now that it's arrived. This one looks like a good book to share with one of my young nephews.
