It's no Gotrek and Felix, but for all those times when you want to read about is tired men praying to Russ to bless their bolt pistols, this is the book. Also, in the second book a man's head fills with puss and explodes.

This book was really entertaining. The mix of the outlandish plot designs, and the characterization of the protagonists over time got me really into the story.
I did notice that the author frequently overused words such as "redoubled" and others kind of like it. It didn't ruin the story, but it was mildly irritating sometimes.

An excellent and absorbing bolters-and-chainswords adventure. It's fast-paced and exciting, but there's lots of backstory and lore presented as well. Recommended not just for 40k enthusiasts but anyone who enjoys rousing space opera with larger-than-life heroes, dastardly villains who positively reek of evil, and high adventure combined with a deep mythology.

This explosive beggining to Ragnar Blackmane's epic saga begins quite modestly but it soons ramps up into full fledged war fare on multiple worlds as Ragnar confronts the archenemy of mankind: chaos, tries to survive a ork onslaught, and much more! The author was not that good, and his description of the reasoning and thoughts of Ragnar destroys the image of a great warrior and puts a sniveling, pompous fool in his stead.

Standard war hammer book not great but keeps you entertained. It like playing Street fighter in the arcade not deep but fun to play from time to time

It was a good book. It focused on the Space Wolves of course. It was interesting to see the development and the details that went into how one goes from merely a human to a space marine.

This is a strong book from the Black Library, the book imprint of Games Workshop. Not all their books are great, you need to be careful eg avoid The Konrad Saga, which is a Warhammer fantasy omnibus - not good.
