Kids who have seen the Pixar short (see it at YouTube) should enjoy this cute book.

In appearance it is very much like the movie. The pages are slick, black, and sturdy, and Day and Night frolic across them.

One of the reasons to buy is that it more clearly explains Day and Night's story. Back in 2010, when the long awaited Toy Story 3 came out in cinemas, there was of course the expectation of one of Pixars oh so wonderful short films. Day and Night was the short film that accompanied Toy Story 3.

LOVE this! No surprise the artist is from Pixar because the story reads like watching a short animated film. Night and Day's expressions are so perfect and their illustrations are detailed enough to entertain the oldest kids (myself included) but simple enough for preschoolers to enjoy (especially if the adult reading is very enthusiastic). Definitely a new favorite.

Teddy Newton's short film translates very well to book format, although whether the most appreciative audience will be kids or adult animation fans is up for grabs--but the film was the same way! The book makes a great collection item or addition to any Pixar fan's bookshelf.

I loved the Pixar animated version that aired before Toy Story 3 so I think something was lost in the transition from animated short to a book - even if it is a different story. Overall still fun.

This book is an adaptation of the Pixar short film-- a nice story about opposites and finding the good in everyone.
