Strange goings on in and around the town of Augusta and the Skunk River pull Dr. Obidiah Gray and his wife Annabelle in 1853 Iowa lead to charges of witchcraft and being the devil's servant in this frontier medical mystery.

Lammers once again tells a fine story, although I really wish he would stretch out from his novella length stories into longer pieces. His characters are fun and deserve more space to grow and to shine and would benefit from more room to grow. The plot and flow of the story ar
