Danger has never been so sexy, come and read a twist in the shape-shifting world and meet some hot dinosaurs. I felt this book was way better than the first two. Nina Bangs creativity for the end of this world Mayan prophecy is just outstanding on how she brings everything together, I just can’t wait for the big finish. I found this one to be an emotional ride with all emotions present. You meet a few new characters the most important is Kione he is a prince of the faes.

I don't know what to say that I haven't said already in my previous reviews on this series. Only, it's somehow managing to get even better. More characters are developed, particularly the dark fey prince (who is... mouth watering) and Fin and his brother. More about the plot (which I love most of all) is revealed, and the questions seemed to have slowed down. Now is all about waiting for the truth to slowly come out in installments, and it was excellent, because in this book we learn MUCH more...more
I really like Nina Bangs' take on the 2012 Myan Calendar end-of-times.
Warning: Plot spoilers ahead!

So now "Zero" thinks to do the same to humanity in 2012 and have the supernatural creatures take over. This is the third book in the Gods of the Night series where a group of eleven men with the souls and shifting abilities of predator dinosaurs are led by Fin, an immortal with god-like abilities. Their goal is to prevent the destruction of humanity at the end of a cycle on December 21, 2012. His counterpart, tagged with the name Zero, believes it's time to shake things up by wiping out humans and letting the supernaturals take over. To that end, Zero has his own group of immortals recruiting sup...more
I am still shocked by this series, but I have to admit the dino-shifter and Mayan prophecy makes for an awesome book. If you like sexy shifters and the wolves are starting to bore you, read the Gods of the Night series. This series gets better and better with each one. My only complaint is that the author is not getting the next in the series on the shelf quick enough. As far as I’m concerned this quote from the book is reason enough to run out, buy the book and read it. “Utah was hot nights, t...more
Forget vampires, werewolves, and demons. The Gods of the Night, nicknamed the Eleven are not your ordinary paranormal creatures. They are otherkin; souls of ancient dinosaurs placed in the bodies of humans to help save mankind.
But Utah, one of the Gods of the Night felt trapped. He no longer cared for his mission as one of the Eleven. His energy, his rage is directed to one species…vampires. Determined to avenge his brother’s death, Utah releases his beast, bent on destroying every vampire he cr...more

In the world of paranormal romance, the Gods of the Night series is a bit hard to describe. They are eleven warriors (along with their mysterious leader, Fin). They are shifters. They battle to save humanity. All of that is pretty standard, but their history is not. Once every millions of years, their is an epic battle between good and evil, with the fate of the planet at stake. The difference is that what these warriors carry within them is the soul of the ultimate predators...dinosaurs.

Utah was still grieving the loss of his brother, Rap. He had another brother named Tor and they three had always hunted as a pack. Back about 100 million years ago when their kind ruled the earth. It didn't help that he had killed many vampires in retribution. He wanted more!
And that is just what he got in the form of his new driver. Daughter of one of the most powerful vamps of all time, Lia is human. She will be turned someday but not now. She is there to help Utah and the current vampire issu...more

Great read - third book in the THE GODS OF THE NIGHT series.
This one literally starts up where book 2 left us... the action has moved to Portland OR, but Utah is still efficiently thinning the vampire population to avenge is brother's death, and the Eleven are still looking to eliminate the latest entry [Seven] in the doomsday countdown.
Fin assigns Lia [from the previous book, she's the currently-human-but-soon-to-become-vampire leader of the Northeast Vampires] as Utah's partner. She thinks he...more

I mentioned in my review of Eternal Craving that I thought the cover didn't capture the vibe of the story. Well, they got it right this time. In fact, I think I kinda love this cover. It feels a lot edgier and more primal, which is definitely what I imagine when I think of dinosaur shifters. The blurring along the edges brings to mind someone who's so intent upon someone or something that everything else falls away. Like I said, this one captures the feel of the book far better than the first tw...more
This was another great story from Nina Bangs, which would've gotten at least 4 stars if the head-hopping wasn't so darn bad. I had to go back quite a few times to figure out which character was talking/thinking what. It bothered me a lot, which also bothered me because I LOVE Nina Bangs. I honestly don't remember this being a problem in her other books, but hopefully it's not a sign of things to come for the rest of the Gods of the Night series. In this book, Utah and Lia learn to tolerate each...more
Favorite Lines: “He grabbed her arm and pulled her close even as she used the hand that wasn’t fumbling for her sword to try to push him away. So close that she was pressed against his chest and stomach. Heat spread from every contact point. She was surprised steam didn’t start rising from their damp clothes.” (p. 17)

I never thought there would come a day that I would think of dinosaurs as sexy. Well, I was wrong. The God of the Night series, written by Nina Bangs, sure changed my mind!
This unique combination of men who become fierce, extremely large, and dangerous predators tempered with a human soul and their courageous female heroines who stand beside them in battle will take you on an intense journey of heartache, triumph, and love.

Eternal Prey is the third book in the “Gods of the Night” series and with it we continue the countdown to the year 12-21-12 where a Mayan prediction calls for the end of the world as we know it. These eleven men with the souls of dinosaurs have been called to being by Fin who is possibly a God, to battle evil and save the world. The only things more deadly than they, are the creatures they are destined to destroy. While this book can be read on its own, I really do suggest that you read the firs...more

After Raps death Utah can't stand vampires, he is not expecting to have Lia as his designated driver. Lia is a human that is leader of the Philly vampires, she is determined to become one of them. But things get way out of hand when Utah and Lia start loving each other.

This is a buddy-warrior vampire paranormal romance novel. The band-of-brothers-fighting-evil type, where one man finds his mate in each book. The main characters are all sortof were-dinosaurs, and in this book, the love interest is a human who rules a vampire region and intends to turn vampire herself. They are still counting down the bad guys - this time it's number 7 in Seattle. You get a lot more back story in this installment, which is what intrigues me the most about this series. My thoughts:
I love the premise of this series based on the Mayan end of world myth. On December 21, 2012 at the Winter Solstice human life on earth will end unless the Gods of the Night (aka the Eleven) can stop Zero and group of nine immortal bad guys. Zero et al. were responsible for the extinction event that wiped out the dinosaurs. Now the Eleven and Fin (their leader) will try to save the day and Earth's humans. The Eleven are now men. They have souls of the dinosaurs that they were at the...more

Captivating! Exciting! & HOT!
“Hot nights, tangled sheets, and screaming orgasms” is how you can describe these sexy dinosaur beasts. This third book in the series is totally awesome. Utah and Lia are perfectly matched as their inner beast becomes uncontrollable with blood lust as their predators seek out their prey in the hunt for Seven. This action pack story keeps you glued to the book with a fantastic HEA ending.

The dino-shifter and Mayan prophecy combo makes for an interesting series. If you’re into sexy shifters who are truly larger than life, read the Gods of the Night series. While the other books in the series rated from me 4 or 5 stars, this one just missed. When the characters get a little too whiney or a little too caught up in their angst, I get bored. Yes, I get that Utah has a personal vendetta against vampires. Of course Lia is going to become a vampire – it’s her destiny. Of course they a...more
3.5 stars. I am confused by the ending. What was the signifcance of the yellow flower? Why was that the thing that worked? Maybe I was reading too fast and missed it?
The book was good. I find myself more interested in Fin, Seir, Kione and Zero than the actual Eleven. My guess is that Fin, Seir and Zero are all brothers.
And how will these stories work? Will they ever fail? There are only 6 bad guys left yet 8 of the Eleven plus all the side characters.

You can never go wrong with Nina Bangs - she rocks! This is the third in the Gods of the Night series. With each book we're given a bit more of a glimpse into the back story, just enough to leave us wanting more. I read this in one sitting, 'cause I just couldn't put it down. Now I can't wait for the next one. You'd better write faster, Nina. 2012 is coming fast. :-)
A big step up from the first two. The characters are more fleshed out and many of the more shadowy characters reveal actually interesting back story. Eternal Prey feels like more thought was put into the story telling than in its predecessors, which is a definite plus. Nina Bangs seems to be slowly moving away from the silliness that marked the first book in this series and is beginning to give the reader more to digest with far less laughable dialogue and ridiculous character traits. While I lo...more

The Hero is a DINOSAUR and his name is UTAH (where I live!)!! Yes, I did read the first two, mostly saying to myself, a dinosaur, really? But I generally like the author's works, so I accepted an e-arc to review. I'm having a tough time getting over the name Utah, it is really irritating.
I absolutely loved this one. The series just keeps getting better with each book and I'm still giggling over:
"As though in answer to that silent cry, the T. rex, Spinosaurus, and Giganotosaurus broke from the darkness. Utah just had to admire the jaw-dropping effect of a combined twenty-two tons of angry predators charging into the clearing. A real holy-shit moment."

It's been a long time since I've read the previous two books in this series, but as soon as I picked up the book I began to remember all the details. This was another action packed book which kept me in suspense and also had me questioning the mystery behind the eleven. What exactly are they and where did they really come from. I have my suspicions (view spoiler) but I would love to know the answers!!

You know what I always have enjoy this series but this book came out in 2010 now its 2012 almost 2013 so I've got to wonder if this is it, if so I am very saddened but the romance is is hot he women are loving understanding brave and smart especially in this one the understanding the angle was different on this one than the previous two but still enjoyed the fighting and twists. The characters wanted each other but there wasnt that palpable described sexual tension. Utah is a hot head but sill I...more

Talk about misspent youth. What did I do during those lazy summer days of childhood when I could’ve been honing my writing skills? Nothing. Okay, so I spent a lot of time dreaming I was a cowgirl with a trusty black stallion. Oh, and I read every Walter Farley horse novel. I was an only child so I relied on my imagination to supply the excitement in my life.
