This was a lovely story about two childhood friends, Zeb Mayhew and Rumer Larkin. They spend every minute of their summers together at Hubbard's Point. Zeb is into star gazing and Rumer cares for injured animals. Rumer has always thought that she and Zeb would someday marry. However, she is crushed when Zeb marries her older sister Elizabeth. Eventually, years later Zeb and Elizabeth divorce. Zeb and his 17 year old son Michael return to Hubbard's Point for a local wedding. Zeb realizes the mist...more

A good story about two sister - one good, one evil, the boy next door, and true love. Setting is a beautiful beach in Connecticut.

Basically the bad sister steals the good sister's true love and marries him and has a kid and then divorces him. Then one magical summer with a nice, expected and tidy ending. I liked it.

This was a deep, emotional, heart-wrenching story of love lost and refound. I was overwhelmed with every emotion as I read this story -- sadness, anger, longing, resentment, hope, fear, happiness, and so much more. Elizabeth's letter made me cry and I was left with pure joy for the future of Zeb and Rumor. I'm very glad I read this book.

This was a really great book about two childhood friends who nearly became lovers only to have their love torn apart by a jealous sibling. I am normally a pretty slow reader because when I was younger I didn't love reading very much but I read this very quickly because I just couldn't put it down. In the midst of their love story, several other stories broke through including another love story, an older man wanting one last adventure sailing across the Atlantic, a small town experiencing quite ...more

Very nice summer read. Flet like the story draged on at times. Did not like the names of the subjects in the storie, found the names to be distracting "Rumer" for the heroin and "Zeb" for the hero. I kept thinking of Rumor and and Zebra!

it was an ok book. Seemed like there was a lot of background repeated more than once. Could've been a much shorter book with out the repeats. Also, it seemed like the two separate romances could've made two separate books.

You just have to hate Elizabeth. I didn't particularly like Zack either. I felt 20 years was too long for the main character to have to wait for Zack to come back. She could have gotten married at least.

This is now the fourth book that I have read from this author and probably my least favorite of the four (Follow the Stars Home, The Perfect Summer, and Summer Light). I enjoyed that some of the characters from the other books made appearances in this one. However, it wasn't too hard to figure out all of the secrets before they were revealed and I found myself losing interest about 3/4 of the way through. Anyway, I finished the book and still liked it, but I guess it didn't entertain as much ...more

Rice is such a good author. Her pacing is impeccable, and her characters are deeply drawn. Likable people pulled into real life, dealing with complicated situations resolved realistically.

It was one of those stories about a long lost love. Everything turned out the way I wanted it to.
Thanks Mom for letting me bring it back from AZ to finish.

a great book recommended by my cousin. I loved the main characters, and enjoyed traveling their emotional development over this important summer. Don't let the first chapter put you off - it gets much better very quickly!

Good. Not very enthusiastic , but quite good to have a time pass. Its quite predictable from the beginning. But i felt good reading it.

Quick, fluffy read. Somewhat predictable, but still enjoyable.

True Blue is the first romance book I've read, expanding my horizons and all that. It wasn't quite what I was expecting but I was not disappointed. Aside from repeating herself a little to much and using overly long descriptions the author does a pretty good job with this book. I found most of the minor characters more interesting than Zeb or Rumer, witch is saying something sense I didn't dislike either of them.
