I thought this a good biography. The author glazes over her childhood and really only talks briefly about her driving career. The bulk of the book is about her years as a pilot. Then a very little bit about what she does after.

I hadn't read anything about Blanche Stuart Scott before, so I think this wasn't a bad introduction. Also the title did give a heads up about the concentration of the book. It did leave me with questions and the desire to learn more about this amazing woman.

I very much enjoyed reading this well-researched book about the amazing life of one of the first female aviators, Blanche Stuart Scott, and in the process getting to understand a bit more about the bigger picture around early aviation: the people involved (e.g. the Wright Brothers), the milestones in the development of the first planes as well as the struggle of a few brave women to be part of it all. This is a must read for any aviation history lover!

Blanche Stuart Scott led such an amazing life that defied all odds. Ms. Scott fought male chauvinism, championed women's rights, survived attempts on her life, cheated death in the skies, and helped pave the way of aviation history as she soared into and through the skies, . . . among several other things.

Julie Cummins's truly magnificent tribute to Blanche Stuart Scott is so beautifully written that it leaves permanent, crystal clear images of

I tried to see if there were any adult biographies about Blanche Stuart Scott but despite having been a very daring woman who did a lot of amazing things in the early 1900s this seems to be the only book dedicated only to her. The final chapter of the book felt rushed and there is a 30 year gap in the books chronology of her life but considering who she was this is still a good read.
