I am tempted to get this for my new husband. This dog is happy living alone, making jam in the summer and knitting in the winter. But sometimes he gets lonely. Then a mouse shows up one winter day, and they have a great time. There's a snow storm, so the dog invites the mouse to stay overnight. But the mouse snores like crazy (like my husband). The next day the mouse makes breakfast, getting jam all over the place, then naps in the yarn, making a mess (like me). The dog gets mad and sends the mo...more

Jack is lonely living in a remote place in the winter. Walter the mouse travels by and is looking for a place to spend the night. They have a great time until Walter snores and invades his space, (his jams and knitting), and Jack asks him to leave. Jack remembers his loneliness and asks Walter back.

A sweet book on friendship, Jack and Walter are too cute! The illustrations have a nice, soft, warm & fuzzy look to them. Jack's annoyance at Walter's habits is funny to read about and I'm sure many readers can relate! A good book to add to a list of friendship books for the preschool crowd

This was a nice book about friendship. My son is obsessed with the "Big Bad Wolf" and loves all books with a wolf. I liked that in this book the wolf was not a "big Bad Wolf." My son did not.

A cute story about friendship and the importance of having someone to spend time with.

Jack lives alone, makes his own jam and knits for pleasure. After Walter comes to live with Jack and he messes up the kitchen, snores really loud and messes up Jack's yarn, Jack makes him move out. But it doesn't take Jack long to realize what friendship means.

Warmly illustrated tale about a (nice) wolf who is lonely until mouse comes to visit. Despite their different standards of cleanliness they figure out a way to get along for the sake of their friendship.

My little 4 yr. old loved this story. Soft illustrations and good moral in story to remember we can love someone despite little quirks about them we may not like.

A super-cute book! The illustrations appear to be pastel chalks and convey the warmth and fluffiness of the characters, Jack the wolf and Walter the mouse.

Very cute. This was a two-time reader. That doesn't happen often around here, but my daughter loved it.
