Not a bad collection of stories, overall... The reason I read this book was for the short story "Sandmagic" by Orson Scott Card, which takes place in the same world as his new novel "The Lost Gate", which I thoroughly enjoyed. And that story was worth the $2 that I paid for this book!

The other stories are kind of hit-and-miss, but it was a good collection.

A lot of anthology series lose momentum after a while but I didn't think this happened with the Swords Against Darkness series. This one is strong, and has a great Charles Saunders tale in it.

I liked this book quite a bit. Most of the stories were excellent heroic fantasy. A few were just so so. But overall a very enjoyable read.
