Feb 25, 2013 Vilda rated it 5 of 5 stars Recommends it for: DH fans! (& anyone who loves PNR should so start the series!)
When I first met Wren earlier in the series, I had no idea that I'd fall in love with him so completely as I did. I can't even explain what a wonderful, caring man he is and my heart aches for him and his awful past. I loved how he was with Maggie (he did some quite adorable things for her!) and she was truly perfect for him. Even I was quite mad at the Fates for a time there...

Unleash the Night is definitely one of the sweetest stories in the series and definitely a new favorite! I already want...more

Wren. Oh Wren. The abandoned, misunderstood, but oh-so-hot Tigard (that would be a cross between a Tiger and a Leopard). Actually he’s a were-Tigard which makes him part human as well. Whatever… he’s achingly gorgeous, and a bit of a loose cannon but at the same time is absolutely swoony with a very gentle soul. Keeping to himself since the death of his parents, he has essentially removed himself from the world, and has an innocence about him that is just irresistible!

Maggie was a great match f...more

Unleash The Night features Wren's story- a character we met briefly before in another of her novels but I can't think which. Wren, a forbidden mix of white tiger and snow leopard in Kenyon's Were-Hunter world, is silent and brooding and perfectly yummy. I fell for him instantly and, combined with the heroine, Marguerite, the book is a sure keeper.

I like Maggie, a girl from the world of wealthy politicians minus the snooty attitude. She fell for Wren at first sight and that made me like her even...more

An orphan with no clan that will claim him, Wren Tigarian grew to adulthood under the close scrutiny and mistrust of those around him. A forbidden blend of two animals - snow leopard and white tiger - Wren has never listened to anyone when there was something he wanted. Now he wants Marguerite.

Marguerite D'Aubert Goudeau is the daughter of a prominent U.S. senator who hates the socialite life she's forced to live. Like her mother before her, she has strong Cajun roots that her father doesn't und...more

I had a bit of a hard time finishing book 8 but those problems were gone as soon as I started this one. I don't know if it's the animals part or just the story but I loved every second of this book.
We have our new pair and it's amazing to follow their story. What I loved most was the time traveling and the complicated story this actually was. There were so many surprises along the way that it was hard to follow at times but I loved it. The pace was fast and everything came hard at the characters...more

Wren has had a hard past. As a hybrid white tiger/snow leopard katagari, he was reviled by both parents and his greater family as deformed or lesser. It scarred his childhood – and lead to his parents killing each other and him fleeing into the night

Now a barely tolerated inhabitant of the Sanctuary in New Orleans, he busses tables and hides from his family that would kill him should he ever move his home from beneath the roof. But the bears of the Sanctuary don’t trust him – they see him as uns...more

Technically this book is a Were-Hunter story not a Dark Hunter story. That’s okay. I kind of throw them all in the pot together too and love the heady brew that creates. This particular story is about a Tigard (a tiger/leopard mix) living in Sanctuary named Wren. He’s been briefly mentioned in previous books, the most prevalent being when he stopped Stefan from going after Vane in Night Play. Wren’s impressive strength was noted at that tim...more

Book #8 follows the story of a Katagarian named Wren. Born a tiger/leopard and was considered as a freak of nature, his mother disowned him practically from the start. His father couldn't stomach the thought of creating an 'abomination' either. His parents were murdered when he was a teenager. Scared and alone, he fled his burning house only to run into a stranger who took him to New Orleans. Synopsis isn't my thing. That's what Good Reads is for :) But let me say this, there were so many twists...more

I really, really enjoyed this novel. Perhaps it is because I like the Were-Hunters so much, but it is what it is.

Wren. I wasn't sure about him throughout the other novels, but I really enjoyed how Sherrilyn Kenyon got us inside this character. Some of her heroes tend to run together, but the Were-Hunters always tend to stand out. And this was no exception. Wren has had a hard life and learning to be touched, loved, accepted, and trusted is not in his tigard nature. But Marguerite did so. She was...more

My daughter brought this book out to me and told me I had to read it. It looked interesting and somehow familiar so I picked it up and started reading on Friday. I finished on Sunday. About a quarter of the way through I realized I'd already read it once before, but I couldn't stop. It was soooo goood!!!!!
I put Kenyon away for awhile. Don't ask me why. I don't know what madness possessed me. She is the Queen of adult paranormal romance. I of course now have to continue reading the ones I missed....more

Oh, Wren. I've been looking forward to you and your dreadlocks since the day I caught you playing pool with Nick at Sanctuary. It's no surprise to anyone who knows me that I have this thing for the pained, quiet ones sitting alone. I want to know what hurts. And when they're as pretty as Wren? The shallow girl in my that loves pretty boys stands up and shouts.

Maggie got on my nerves though. At first, at first, but still. It's hard to get on the rich girl train. Her friends were snots. She KEPT...more

--This book in 6 words:

not bad, but a little confusing

--Why did I read this? And am I glad I did?

Again I wasn’t overly excited to read a book not centered around a Dark Hunter, however, I was glad to be back in NOLA and with some common characters. I didn’t hate the idea behind this one and I liked Wren and Maggie, however, I felt like the solution was a tad confusing (to the point where the characters even talk about it being over their heads).

I’ve read some reviews where people were real...more

After having read some of Kenyon's other books, I now know that her stuff can range from "really good" to "ugh, why bother". I was kind of a little afraid to pick up another one of her books after the last one of hers that I'd read (the one about the whiny reporter), but I did anyway because I'd liked her earlier stuff so much. I'm pretty much glad that I did.

The plotline in this book surrounds a hunky were-tiger Wren & Marguerite, the girl who has attracted his affections. Marguerite is a r...more

Sherrilyn Kenyon takes a break with the Dark-Hunters with Unleash the Night, a Were-Hunter novel. The central plot revolves around a hybird leopard and tiger Katagari named Wren. He is a quiet, mysterious recluse who works as a busboy at Sanctuary. As he gets involved with a human woman, Maggie, who happens to be a Senator's daughter, some of the Katagaria believe he's succumbing to madness and was the one responsible for his parents' death years ago. The matter is then turned over to the Omergi...more

I really liked Wren's story even if the time travel bit was sort of confusing later on. Kenyon sure knows how to write a tortured soul! But her heroine in this one really grows & stands up as a daddy's girl & I like it. We also learn more about the Were-Hunter culture in this one as well as a peek at Savitar whom we first met in Alexion & Danger's story. It was well written with a good balance between plot & action, definitely more than a filler book, I really liked it.

I love the Dark-Hunter series, but sometimes it is a toss-up as to whether I like the vampires or the weres better! This is the second were entry in the saga, and I truly enjoyed it. Wren is a hybrid were, and, like Zarek, he is emotionall scarred and in hiding in Sanctuary. Maggie longs to be herself, but her father's political ambitions keep her repressed and unhappy. When these two come together, they will uncover a conspiracy concerning Wren's father, his billion-dollar company and a power s...more

Achei deliciosa a sua quase inocência perante certos assuntos, ele estava tão habitu...more

Story of Wren and Maggie

Wren Tigarian
"The tiger lies low not from fear, but for aim."

Wren is a hybrid mix of a Snow Leopard mother and a White Tiger father. As a result, he can take either form at will. He was an abomination that should never have been allowed to be brought into the world. When his parents began to suspect his powers, his mother tried to kill him. No one is quite sure what happened to either of his parents after that.

Because of their brutality and extreme alpha natures, both...more

Another great book to the series! I just loved Wren! He made me so sad though. I cared so much for his character and felt bad about the things he went through and how he just isolated himself from others. Then Maggie comes along and changes everything for him.
You have Wren who is perceived by others to be dangerous, unsteady, and he also doesn't talk to too many people. He's lost both of this parents and he's "deformed"...A Tigard. He doesn't have any friends expect his monkey. Then there's Magg...more

This is another of my favorites of the D-H series. Wren and Maggie fits together. She feeling inferior because of her mothers sucide and how her father is toward her and Wren because he felt rejected by his parents--his mother wanted him dead, his father saw him as a freak.
Their journey together is more than a love story it is a journey of development of their character, the realization of their worth and acceptance of who they are inside, not what others want on the outside.

Wren seems to be jus...more

As opposed to the high ratings given by other users, I had to give this a low one. The only things I enjoyed about this story are: 1) Wren is a hybrid, he could be a tiger or a snow leopard. I love tigers; 2) Time traveling 3) Savitar, and a little something about Nick (I miss him a lot and I hope he appears more on the next books)

Although I was carried away by the writing sometimes, I still felt like a spectator in the story, the plot wasn't exactly fresh. Loner meets senator's daughter, sparks...more
