I was quite disappointed in this book. Part of it is that I can't stomach nationalism and this was written with a "red-scare" attitude prevalent amongst the characters. The other problem with this book is that there were too many plot holes to plug, and too many disconnected arcs that went nowhere.

First contacts with the publishing world led her, as many other contemporary female writers targeting a male-dominated market, to choose a literary pseudonym.
