Bērnībā man bija tāda `Jauno tūristu rokasgrāmata`, kuru neskaitāmas reizes biju pārlasījis, iepazīstoties ar dažnedažādākajām lietām, kuras varētu būt noderīgas, piemēram, pārgājienos ar teltīm un dzīvei dabā. Bērs Grils savā izdzīvošanas grāmatā šo manu tieksmi spēt būt pašpietiekamam pacēlis jaunā līmenī. Skaidrs, ka pamatlietas par izdzīvošanu ārkārtas apstākļos būtu jāzina ikvienam, jo nekad nevaram zināt, kad vieni paši tiksim izskaloti vientuļā salā.

Grāmatā atrodami ļoti daudz un izsmeļoš

I loved it! So many practical info about how to survive in the 'wild' world (if you read the book you will know that the Nature is not as wild as you think); reminds me of being a child, 'reading' the maps on the sky and having fun among the Nature - as we grow up we forget how it is to be part of the Earth - how to coexist with animals and plants, rivers, forests etc
Reading Bear Grylls' book was a great fun and gave me a lot of respect to Mother Nature and our planet :)

This is the perfect companion to the television series. Although this is an excellent read, and the writing is very good, I prefer the television series as Edward is just so yummy to look at!!!

Every year the death toll on Mount Everest rises, and for every ten mountaineers who make it to the top, one will die. Yet at 7:22AM on May 26th 1998, Bear Grylls entered The Guinness Book of Records as the youngest, and one of only around thirty, British climbers to have successfully climbed Everest and returned alive.
