This book is all about learning to pray for yourself. The chapters are very short (only 3-4 pages each) and fairly quick to read, and each concludes with a prayer and Bible verses related to the topic. Ms. Omartian discussed topics that I had never thought to pray for myself for. I read this over the course of a month, but may reread it over a longer period of time in order to build each topic into my prayer time for a few days. It is the best book a women can read, you usually pray for others but how can you take care of others when you are not taking care of yourself. It really spoke to me. God worked in me while I was reading it.

Just like 'God's Word for the Single Believer' I don't really regard this as a book that i've 'read' but will perhaps continue to refer back to for the rest of my days. It was about at page 60/61 that I realised that the best way to read this book was not to read each chapter sequentially - instead this book requires life application, prayer and a heart that sincerely seeks change and spiritual growth through a closer walk with Jesus. 5 Stars...did you hear me? * * * * * Stars! I LOVED this book. I've read the Power of a Praying Wife before this and was expecting this book to be very similar. Now don't get me wrong, the Power of a Praying Wife is also a very good book, but this book, this book breaks the mold. It's so much more.

I love Stormie's books. She add a beautiful and enriching prayer at the end of each chapter which always seems to hit home!

I loved chapter 7 so far about how to gain a closer relationship with God, and to spend more time with Him. I also liked when she shared on "jobs/occupations" and chapter 13 on holiness and purity.
I needed these friendly reminders. "Change me Lord prayers" is what I am seeking and working heavily on based on the calling that God foresees for my life.
3.5 stars.

A powerful book!!! It was a wedding gift from a dear friend. I read it at a time when all seemed to be 'well'. It means so much more to me now...for I know I am never alone in good or bad times. In God we can trust and I find I'm feeling this is a book for life, so must go back and read again and again for strength and wisdom in prayer....more words to come....
Stormie's Power of a Praying... books were the beginning of my love and passion for prayer. As women we can be so busy looking out for those around us that we can neglect our own needs - I found this book refreshing and equipping as I learnt to pray for myself in a healthy and meaningful way.
Stormies Teachings are a great tools for your Christian Libary you know you will always return to be fed the tools by Stormie or you will be reccogmending them to those whom the Lord leads you to give a tool to. Highly Reccogmend all of her tools

At first, I had a hard time with this book, cause I didn't like the fact that I needed to "fix" myself! ha . ..But I kept with it and found this book to be very helpful, especially through a very difficult times of my life. I still refer to it!!

All ladies wanting to grow in and deepen their relationship with the Lord.
I have read through and prayed through this book many times over. What I love about Stormie's books are that they are filled with scriptures which are life giving and truths that are life changing. My mind is challenged and renewed everytime I read from one of her books.

Beautiful study group where woman got together to share in there faith in Jesus. Laughter, tears, joy and hope were shared here. Friendships were formed. Lookiing forward to the next one.
I read this book with a women's small group. It was the book that taught me the importance of quiet times. This book helped me understand the importance and joy of spending time with the Lord.
Awesome book! Stormie is a great author and has experienced a lot with husband. It teaches you about self control and patience in your life. Which I so needed. Would recommend for anyone.

This is a great book to come back to and read over and over. The different chapters are the different prayers every woman should be praying for herself. Loved every minute reading it so far. ^_^
I've had this book on my shelf for years and haven't read it. It was life-changing! I know it was God's timing for me to read this book at this point in my life. I love that there are essentially directions for praying for almost every situation one will go through in life. This will definitely be one of those books I pull out to reread specific chapters when needed.
This book was awesomely life changing. Its one of those that leave you wanting to read more. It has taught me many things that are sure to help me in my intimate walk with the Father.

Excellent prayer template. The prayers are not meaningless mantra. They are powerful conversation starters with GOD.

I have sticky notes on all the prayer pages and I pray one every day. I have for a few years now.
I love Stormies books, they have really inspired me and opened up my prayer life in a very big way.
I was underwhelmed. As with her other "power of a praying" books I found it superficial and rote.
this book is excellent. it has helped me on my journey w God. highly recommended.
Still using this to pray for through with rotating other books of hers.
