Gareth St. Clair is in a bind. His father, who detests him, is determined to beggar the St. Clair estates and ruin his inheritance. Gareth's sole bequest is an old family diary, which may or may not contain the secrets of his past... and the key to his future. The problem is—it's written in Italian, of which Gareth s

Thank heavens for Spring Cleaning!

A year or so ago I began reading Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series and after devouring the first six books back to back, I set them aside and moved on to something else. Well here I am a year later and in the spirit of “Spring Cleaning,” I decided I’d catch up on those books that were just sitting on my shelves collecting dust, and that included the final two Bridgerton books.

Gareth St. Clair is in a bind – that’s what the cover blurb tells us. Though I must admi
As the youngest of the very lively Bridgerton clan, Hyacinth has had to stand out and make herself heard. Coming across a overly outspoken and willing to outwit anyone, Hyacinth is starting to see there may be more to her mundane life and herself when in walks someone who not only can outwit her but can render her speechless!

Hmm, didn’t really like this Bridgerton story. I was looking forward to a real firecracker of a heroine with Hyacinth Bridgerton, but I thought her character was watered down compared to how she was described in the previous novels as this very independent minded I go my own way kind of heroine. She reminded me of Colin in that the character was somewhat of a letdown once their story was told.

Meet our Hero Lady Danbury's grandson is none other than the nortorious Gareth St. Clair. Although it proberly wasnt entirely his fault that he gained such a wicked reputation. There were plenty of other men who behaved with equal lack of propriety and more than a few who were as handsome as sin, but Gareth St. Clair was the only one who manged to combine the two with such success.

Meet our Herione Hyacinth Bridgerton. The youngest and the last Bridgert
Hyacinth and Gareth's story, the seventh in the Bridgerton series.

This book had a lot of potential, but it never really got off the ground. The book opens with a lot of promise. The hero Gareth is 18 and has never been given any affection, direction, or approval from his father. His mother has been dead since he was a small child.

His father then informs him that he is not really his son, and that his mother had an affair with an unknown man. From this point on Gareth and his father are official
I'm so glad that I read Hyacinth's story for last because if I had read Gregory's the ending of the series would have left me with bad taste in my mouth. This way instead I regained my love for this series!

Hyacinth and Gareth are perfect for each other!

Hyacinth is fantastic with her quick wit and her intelligence. She's afraid of nothing! Her plain speaking was a joy to read!

Gareth is great too. I loved how Hyacinth make him crazy! LOL

And what to say about Lady D? WOW, just WOW! Her and Hyacint

“Gareth, yes? Or Gareth, no?”
“Gareth, more” !!!!!!!

I LOVED this book! Hyacinth is definitely a unique young woman and this story was exactly what I was expecting to read!

Let’s be honest… Every man is scared of Hyacinth. She’s too honest for her own good and even more stubborn. She doesn’t settle on the second best choice and she prefers to be friends with the most terrifying woman in London who is like a grandmother to her. I liked the way she was acting because she’s genuine. She knows that s

I shouldn't bore people with my love for the Bridgerton series but, seriously, I cannot love these people (characters) more!! Oh, how I loved Hyacinth and Gareth! Hyacinth was funny, quick witted, smart, and sarcastic. Gareth was the perfect match for her, he could definitely hold his own with her. Loved the story, the hero and heroine, the proposal (the 2nd one)--*sigh*, and of course, I can't forget Lady Danbury! Love, love, love!!!!!

Maybe because Hyacinth had felt like a child for so long, I was not as thrilled about reading her story. I honestly wanted a HR that would be somewhat amusing. I was lucky enough to get some of that because Hyacinth interacted with lady Danbury, a matron known for her especially candid personality and was vying for attention from Lady Danbury's grandson, Gareth St. Claire.

Gareth's sob story is typical, emotionally abandoned by his “father”, her finds out that he in not truly his father's son and

I say, Julia Quinn must have made a deal with the devil, because, AGAIN: such a great book this is, and cute too, actually, it’s probably the cutest one in the series. I’m still to read the last one, so I can’t be 100% sure of that statement, but yeah, I’m almost certain Hyacinth and Gareth will win the Cutest Book in the Series Award.

So, this is Hyacinth's book, the youngest Bridgerton of her generation, and I’m quite sure she’s also the youngest heroine yet in the series, being only 22; she is

It's another great Bridgerton story from Julia Quinn. There are parts that just had me chuckling out loud - made my husband look at me a couple of times and ask what was so funny. But Gareth's struggle was so touching. My favorite heros are the tormented ones who are healed by love and Gareth definitely qualifies.

Another great addition to this series! Hyacinth Bridgerton was such a refreshing heroine. She speaks her mind and is intelligent and loves with her whole heart. The scenes between Hyacinth and her mother, Violet, brought tears to my eyes. I want to be Violet when I grow up ;)

With the last couple of historical romances I tried to read not doing it for me, I'd just about decided to limit my historical authors to Meredith Duran & Courtney Milan with an occasional Eloisa James thrown in, however this was a delightful story with a charming, unusual heroine. She was too smart for her own good, fearless, and enchanting. I love how the hero was smart enough to keep up with her and how he humored her when she went off on tangents, but mostly I loved how he connived to co ...more
For the first half of this book, it was a 5. For the second half, it was a 3, so I compromised and gave it 4 stars!

While reading the first half of the book I was in stitches!! I was laughing so much that I was crying! I received much teasing from my husband for this. I loved the way Hyacinth finally met her match, someone who would actually challenge her. Gareth was wonderful and so very charming. But he always had a come-back for Hyacinth, not allowing her to always get the last word in!

Oh, this beautiful series it's coming to the end for me, only one more book left.

Be sure that this book does not disappoint. I loved it. Hy is an amazing character. She was the heroine with the strongest character in the series. Everything about her made wanna keep reading. And I loved the fact that even though she was really stubborn with everything, she wasn't when it came to Garreth. They were an amazing couple that strongly compliment each other.

Although this book isn't going to my faves bec

This one was cuter than the other stories, and contained a bit more adventure, but I felt the romance wasn't quite as deep as in the other stories, and it was hard to connect with either character on a meaningful level. Still it was fun and funny, and the interactions between Hyacinth and Lady Danbury are hilarious. If you've made it this far with the Bridgertons, don't stop now.

Well, this has been a disappointing read. I love this series. The characters are wonderful and most of the time I can expect a funny and good romantic story. As usual, there are a few humorous situations and comments, but this book is weaker than the previous especially the first four. Actually, I think the moment Lady Whistledown stopped writing, the books went downhill. While I liked this story more than I did To Sir Phillip, With Love, I couldn’t find that thing that made me love An Offer Fro ...more
Reading to myself and smiling like a fool! What an adorable couple!

Some of my favorite scenes:

The poetry recital that included a unicorn. Their banter is so cute!

The sneaking out to search for the jewels when Gareth realizes that, for the first time, he is "the more sensible one of the duo". I love that Hyacinth surprised him.

When Gregory was teasing his sister mercilessly. The lisping part was funny, but his little jabs during the tea was so brother-like. Made me miss my brother.

This was not one of my favorites of the series. It took me awhile to warm up the h/h both. Then I felt Gareth was a toad for some of the book, when he asked Hyacinth to marry him. The last 1/4 of the book was the best part, but couldn't recover the 4th star.
I'm almost finished with this series which is a shame. Other than one book in this series they've all been wonderful. It's In His Kiss was no different and I loved every bit of it. My only complaint is I wished it was longer.

It’s no secret that I love all the Bridgerton men but I also adore the men who marry into the family. Gareth St. Clair doesn’t know who he is. When his father lets him on to a secret that he’s kept from him for his entire life, Gareth doesn’t know how to accept the truth. He becomes bitter, developing a hatred for his father who wishes he never had his second son. The feeling is mutual between the baron and Gareth, because whenever they are in the same room as each other, chaos is a guaranteed e ...more

Definitely not my favorite among the Bridgerton books. It was by no means bad, but the story was missing a little something. It didn't suck me in as much as the previous books.

Series Note:
This book is fairly independent of the others, but I'd still recommend reading the series in order.

Hyacinth Bridgerton is one of two remaining unmarried Bridgertons. She's also the youngest and the most quirky and independent of the lot. After three seasons on the Marriage Mart, she's yet

No idea what I wrote down there, but it looks extensive.... I'm sure it's a love description of the book. I'll stick to that. ;) It was really cute! The epilogue freaking kills me! Heeheehee!!!

HYACINTH! Oh, geez. And GARETH ST. CLAIR. This book was fun. I REALLY liked it. Oh gosh, and the epilogue! HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA! :) Oh, that's some gooooood stuff!

I'm teetering on rating this book a 3 or 4. The seventh installment of the Bridgertons was just okay for me. I wasn't capitivated in this book then I was the previous books. This particular book was predictable and plot was very routine with not a whole lot of excitement.

Hyacinth in the youngest of the Bridgertons, who is eccentric, outspoken and intelligent. It is believed not only from herself, her family and members of the ton she has not married because men are just plain intimidated by her
Another great read in the Bridgerton Series! Quinn did another awesome job and after the 7th book in the series she still makes me laugh out loud! There is never a moment where Hyacinth Bridgerton can keep her mouth shut. Being the youngest in the family she'll do anything to get her way! Her family is so eager to marry her off so when Gareth St. Clair enters the picture her family is ecstatic! She helps Gareth St. Clair translate his grandmothers mysterious diary and during their late night esc ...more

“I am asking you to marry me because I love you,” he said, “because I cannot imagine living my life without you. I want to see your face in the morning, and then at night, and a hundred times in between. I want to grow old with you, I want to laugh with you, and I want to sigh to my friends about how managing you are, all the while secretly knowing I am the luckiest man in town.”

“What?” she demanded.

He shrugged. “A man’s got to keep up appearances. I’ll be universally detested if everyone realizes how perfect you are.”
“I’m not certain you’d know the right sort of man for you if he arrived on our doorstep riding an elephant.”
“I would think the elephant would be a fairly good indication that I ought to look elsewhere.”
