Set in the 1800s, Eastern city boy reporter Tim finds out his rich banker lover, is cheating on him. At the end of it, Tim finds himself kicked out of the mansion, out of a job and with his money frozen in the bank. He heads to his aunt's house, the only place he can expect to be accepted. On the way, he sees a vision of an Indian lawman, "Savage Jon" Sauvage. He takes a trip to a baptism with his aunt, and there again finds Savage Jon, as well as finds a job at the local newspaper

I liked this story about these 2 men who at first look don't fit at all: Tim, the artist/journalist, and Jon, the alpha lawman. There is no HEA, but the hope that in the future both charachters will find their HEA. I really would like to read more of them.

Tim is the younger man with the big blue eyes, city boy now in the wilds of Arkansas. He could have come across as a very femme kind of character, but he didn't. He's smart and good at his job but knows when he's in over his head. (But goes in anyway). Jon is the epitome of alpha lawman, who pushes the other man away with anger when he can.
This is not a HEA ending, but a hopeful one. Some unanswered questions make me think there will be more (?)

This short novella was really pulling. I would rate it higher, but i was to short. Hope there will be sequel about this couple. Both man were interesting!

This story was really excellent, but I hope there's a sequel (or a series even!) about these guys as I felt the tale was cut a bit short.
