Kristina Douglas’s sexy new series introduces a realm of fallen angels and ruthless demons, where an eternal rebellion is brewing . . . and one unsuspecting woman can change the fate of the Fallen forever. She was just an ordinary mortal . . .

“You’re dead” is so not what Allie Watson wants to hear. Unfortunately, it explains a lot. Like the dark, angelically handsome man w...more

Lady Danielle aka The Book Huntress
This book captivated me. It started out kind of strange, with the shifting 1st person POVs, and the fact that the heroine gets hit by a bus at the beginning of the story (not a spoiler, trust me). But, I have to say, I couldn’t stop reading. It’s the honest truth that I would read the phone book if Anne Stuart wrote it. When I heard she had written a fallen angel paranormal romance (under a pseudonym), I was there. I mean, she’s the Queen of Bad Boy Heroes. She didn’t disappoint me with Raziel,...more

No, I just couldn't do it. One more read into Allie's POV and I'd happily toss myself out my window just to get away from the damned book. Frustrated is an understatement when it comes to how I felt about it. And I had such high hopes too. I mean, come on, a twist on the Angel PNR genre, where angels feed on blood and need sex to sustain themselves? Count me in! But, man if I didn't want to pull my hair out.

In the beginning of the book, we're introduced to Raziel, one of The Fallen. It says, the...more

Raziel By Kristina Douglas was much better than I had expected. I usually don't have much luck with books about angels, with the exception of Angelfall and now Raziel, apparently winged hotties are just not my thing. There were some elements of this book that reminded me of Angelfall which I LOVED, and which initially drew my interest in reading this book. Raziel is definitely for adults and has some pretty detailed erotic scenes which I was so happy to find were not overdone and cheesy as in so...more

Allie Watson has just died and has been pulled back from the flames of hell by a dark and mysterious man. Now she finds herself in a place that is hidden from the world. This is the home of the Fallen, beautiful angels who fell from heaven and are now cursed to drink blood, and they see her as an intruder into their world. Raziel felt something wasn't right when he saw that Allie would be going to hell so he saved her and brought him back to his home. Even though he was the one to save...more

Didn't enjoy this one much, too slow paced for my liking. Basically about a group of fallen angels called the Fallen. It's about Allie who had an accident and died. So Raziel was the appointed angel to escort her soul to the 'next' place.

But for what ever reason, he couldn't let her go and ended up taking her to his home. And hence she lived there and experienced and learned the everyday lives of the Fallens. Not much of a going on really, more of a background introduction for future installmen...more

NOTE: I need to explain that this book, other than one moment, is a strong 4.5 for me. I really did enjoy the story, world building, and tone of The Fallen: Raziel.

Audio Specific: Narrators Paul Costanzo & Karen White did a wonderful job on this audiobook! I am a huge fan of the duel narration as I think it balances the emotions/voices of the characters. In this ca...more

Felicia and Tara both talked about a specific scene that was slightly bothersome. Perhaps being prepared for it helped, but I did not share the same hesitations. It worked for Raziel and Allie’s story. Theirs was not a perfect love story, but I liked it that way. It was perfect in its imperfection. I love the struggle, the denial, the inevitable moment when the last bit of resistance comes crashing down, and even after that, when they stil...more

A brilliant piece of work by Kristina Douglas (aka Anne Stuart) that takes the Judeo-Christian foundations and blows them to smithereens! All in the guise of a paranormal romance novel. SWEET!

But every time I went to the library, this book called out to me. Really, it did. I caved. RAZIEL is the type of novel that makes you think. If it doesn’t; then you have missed a very integral part of Ms. Douglas’ work.

Allie is dead; her human, physical body gone. She...more

Narrated by Karen White and Paul Constanza - Karen White's narration is 5*s Paul Costanza 2.5*s

While this book begged for a dual narration, because I was thrown more than once by the POV switch when I read it myself, I wish the male half of this dual narration had as much skill and insight into characters as the female half did. She was perfect for me!

I could live with P.C.s semi robotic performance if he hadn't hit my number one No, No button ... making hot, virile men sound like OLD men.

Based on the audio book - 3.5 stars, rounded up to a 4.

The audio book is narrated by both a man and a woman. My only other experience with this is Karen Marie Moning's Fever Series. In that series, the main dialogue was female first person POV, so most of it was done by the woman, but the male dialogue/voices were done by the male. In this book, not so. It was a little discombobulating at first, however once I figured out this was due to the 1st person POVs changing from the heroine to the hero,...more

With little knowledge of angles I set out trying to find some “Awesome!” story that has plenty of romance but is nicely blended with believable myths. “The Fallen: Raziel” was exactly what I was looking for. The main characters are, a more than attractive angel named Raziel, and Allie the strong, defiant and strikingly beautiful woman that will change the lives of all of the Fallen Forever!

I am always cautious when it comes to reading new authors, because pretty much anyone can get published now...more

I love any fiction book that has to do with fallen angels, or angels period. And I went in thinking I was going to love this book. However, this was not the case. I couldn't stand any single character in this book. Especially all of the Fallen. They were just plain rude and hateful to Allie. Sure she wasn't the sweetest girl, and at times I did feel she deserved some of it, but not all of it. Allie was just shallow and whiny. I got tired of hearing how sexy and beautiful Raziel was and...more

Raziel is a fallen angel. Together with his fellow brothers (in arms), they live with their bonded human females in the hidden world called Sheol. If I understood their history correctly, God had placed the punishment and eradication of all evil to the archangel Uriel. He in turn uses fallen angels and demons to carry out his orders. When Raziel is to escort another soul to the bowls of hell, he does his duty as usual only to do something completely out of the ordinary. At the last minu...more

Didn't finish. What to say about this book? The answer is fuck. From the beinning of the book all I read from the both POV is fuck. Explains:
Raziel: Thinks: It has been a long time since I got laid. But enough, got to go to work collecting death souls and dumping them in hell or heaven. Oh, I am late better go before my scarey fuck up boss fires- er kills me.
Allie: Thinks:Hurry I am late.
Later: Allie dies and Raziel collects her soul. Saves her from hell.
Some slow boring stuff happens.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as I wanted to. I thought the main male character (Raziel) was a bit of an ass through most of it, so couldn't really feel for him. And the female character (Allie) was also kind of annoying. I think that when you choose to write in first person (for both characters), you have to do it in such a way that the reader doesn't take part in all of the minutae that goes through a person's mind - a lot of other author's do the 1st person POV quite well. Here, because the...more

I liked this book. Raziel is one hot angel! Who can call me anytime!

Little joke, sorry, I will get to business.
The beginning of the book is strange, from New York to hell, a fast journey. But Kristina finds a way to make it an easy read.
From than on the books takes on a complete different direction I thought it was gonna go. We end up on an island. In my dreams a beautiful island, with gorgeous Raziel. (I like Raziel)

I got this because I had seen it advertised a few months ago and was looking for something different to read.

Well that and the cover was droolworthy. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a pretty cover. The book is a little over 200 pages long. I pretty much sucked it up and read it in a few hours time. Raziel is the first in her The Fallen series.

Allie was having a normal day and then she's told by an angel that she's now dead. Raziel is one of the Fallen and he and other Fallen have been tasked b...more

What a quick and fun read. I would actually like to give this book 3.5 stars. Right off the bat I loved the changing POVs. Anything written in first person is my favorite, but then to have the first person change all the time was a total win. My favorite genre is angels and this book on fallen angels is a different take than what I’d read before. The background and the conflicts were all fabulously told. The interesting take on Uriel vs Lucifer, blood eating, being dead in the human realm vs dea...more

Raziel is a book that I had seen on several of my fellow bloggers’ Waiting on Wednesday posts. It looked interesting enough that I added it to my TBR list, but I didn’t jump to read it. Then Raziel was chosen as the February read for a group that I belong to, and I was excited to finally have the push I needed to sit down and start reading it, but still wasn’t motivated enough to actually jump in. As several of my friends finished it and started talking about it, and I realized that February was...more

Quick & Dirty: Well written with a solid plot, Ms. Douglas delivers a unique world with an unforgiving villain and chilling danger.

Opening Sentence: I am Raziel, one of the twenty fallen angels spoken of by Enoch in the old books.

Raziel is a fallen angel. Cursed by God, he doesn’t have many options. Raziel serves Uriel by escorting the dead to their final destination: heaven or hell. Unfortunately, Allie’s number has been punched. Raziel sets out on just another delivery assignmen...more

The number one problem I had with this first book of Douglas' new Fallen series is the herione, Allegra or Allie Watson. She annoyed from the first moment she opened her mouth. The whole book she bitched about Raziel and the other Fallen being vampires. They are not vampires! Another thing was she kept forgetting she was dead and in the end when she FINALLY accepted this she was like, "I don't want to die again!" Are you kidding me?

I liked Raziel in the beginning but when Allie died and was tak...more

The Fallen: Raziel is a paranormal romance between a human woman and an angel. In their world, there are no female angels. There are fallen angels who drink blood and fallen, cannibalistic angels sent to destroy the blood drinkers. The story is told in first person, but the person telling the story is constantly changes.

When I started reading the story I was so confused. The intro is told by Raziel (hero) and Uriel (all important, second hand of God). So you hear a little bit about Raziel’s duty...more

Paranormal Romance – Jan. 25th, 2011
3 ½ stars

Raziel is a fallen angel and an immortal. His life is an endless mass of dreary days. The fallen angels’ main duty is to ferry the souls of humans after they have died. It is his turn but when a young woman is killed and he transports her to her 'destiny' (either Heaven or Hell), he finds that she is destined for Hell! Raziel doesn't know why but he is troubled because he can easily tell this young human is not evil enough to...more

ok so have you ever read a book and something happened and all you could think is "What the f#ck just happened?!?" Well that was how I felt with only 12mins left in this audiobook. The story was ok I guess, I loved the bickering between Raziel and Allie, but Allie showed some signs of being TSTL. It's like her life would have been so much better if she just would get the hell out of her own way. The first 3/4s of the book was so DRAGGED OUT, and the last 1/4 felt rushed. I'll go on to the next b...more

Allie Watson is having a bad day. The chronically late temp worker/author of snarky religious novels is trying to get across town to a meeting with her publisher, her feet hurt, and she’s starving. She really doesn’t have time to have a strangely intimate conversation with a really, really good looking guy, with really strange but compelling eyes. Too bad the heel of her super-cute shoe snaps off as she’s stepping in front of a cross-town bus. Just like that, Allie’s dead, and her sexy acquainta...more

Interesting take on the premise of fallen angels. This is my first foray into paranormal romance, though I've resisted it for a long long while. Only Kristina Douglas, aka one of my favorites, Anne Stuart, could induce me to do otherwise. I love Anne's/Kristina's writing, and admittedly this book has a number of good points, those sudden, tender squeezes to the heart that the author is so good at. Maybe my expectations were too high, but somehow there was something...lacking in Raziel. An opport...more
