Recommends it for: celiac disease, gluten-free, gluten-sensitive
Shelves: foodie
This book is broken into two-parts, recipes and an approachable introduction into the health concerns of gluten-sensitive or gluten-intolerant people (celiac disease). The personal experiences of the author are what caught my attention to buy this book and so I feel the sticker price is justified, however, it would not likely serve as a regular use cookbook. There are about 100 recipes which vary from breakfast to dinner to dessert, but I suspect that there are many more to be found elsewhere. T ...more

Recommends it for: Anyone with celiac disease or any form of gluten intolerance.
Shelves: health
I loved this book it gave practical advice on living Gluten Free and offered up a short but tastey selection of recipes. Love the smoothies and have made them a staple of my diet. It answers your basic questions about gluten - celiac disease andhow to avoid gluten and how to get better. At first I thought it was rather short and a little incomplete but I have drawn SO MUCH on this book, its not so much that it was short its that it gives all you really need to know to get started. There are crackers on the cover; I bought it because if the crackers. There are no cracker recipes inside. Not only that, but the recipes either taste unacceptable, or don't work properly as shown.

Pretty good. Won't be buying it for my personal library, though. Charlotte's review says it well.

In 2005, I had plans to move from San Francisco back to New York City - plans that were derailed when I rode through Wyoming and fell in love with this place. I went on to New York, but a month later turned around, returned to Wyoming, a
