We are having much more success with this book. I have recently read that when you stay home with your children, you are essentially homeschooling them. Obviously, one might say, but truthfully? Never crossed my mind. We are experiencing much more peace in my house now that I am challenging him on an appropriate level. Also, he is totally surprising me with his capabilities. Oops. I hate it when my kid has moved onto the next step, and I didn't notice.

Same cheesy graphics, and not all ideas are...more

Alot of these ideas are either already mentioned in her previous books, or ideas anyone with half a brain cell could think up. Letting your child play with pots and pans while you make dinner? Great if you can take the noise. Putting a blanket over a table to make a tent, going on a nature walk, kicking a ball around, thanks but I could have thought of that on my own. Im giving it 3 stars only because there were a few original ideas. But most were not appropriate for the 3-6 age group, but more...more

This is a fabulous list of fun, educational, easy, and inexpensive activities. I've tried several with Jonas and we've had a great time. One of her many great ideas is to keep a "Crazy Can" with strips of paper that list easy activities that can occupy your preschooler during a crazy time like dinner prep. Your child can draw an activity out of the can and keep himself occupied while you're busy.

I just happened to see this book in the library and grabbed! Its amazing! I wish I had this like two years ago! I'll include this gift as a must have for baby shower gifts for new moms. We've tried a ton of the stuff and can't wait to try as much as possible.

I loved this book as well, though I thought that the toddler version was slightly better I still gave it 5 stars and would reccomend it to people with preschool age children. Tons of easy, cheap and fun ideas to fill your days with kids at home.

I found this book to be quite a useful resource filled with all sorts of activities, crafts, games, recipes etc etc geared towards keeping a preschooler occupied during the day without resorting to TV. I liked it so much in fact that I plan to add it to my own collection of books ASAP.

I love Kuffner's books! On some days, they are a life saver from boredom! I can quickly pick up the book and choose just about any activity and Soraya will love it! I highly recommend any of her books!

Got this from "Ready for Kindergarten". I like that the ideas are simple with things you have around the house. My kids have already enjoyed several of them.
Crystal
It has a lot of fun ideas of what to do to keep your kids busy inside, outside, on the go and more!
Amy
Great book we are really enjoying doing the activities mentioned.

Love this book! I'm definitely the type who needs a list of ideas. I can't wait to try these activities with my son. It's a tad advanced for my 2yr old; truly for the 3+ age group, so I will soon buy the toddler activity book for 2-3 yr olds. I love the idea of the "crazy can" for times when I might be occupied with cleaning or cooking. I love the ideas in the intro and all the different craft recipes (playdough, paste, etc) at the end of the book. Great chapters: Kids in the Kitchen, Outdoor Fu...more

Why didn't I buy this book a year or two ago? It is so helpful in keeping my kids occupied when they say those dreaded words: I'm bored. My favorite thing is that these activities are easy, cheap, and typically require things that I already have on hand. A lifesaver for moms with young kids!

I've been exploring ways to get crafty with my kids and this book along with the Toddler's Busy Book has been indispensible for inspiring ideas. Though I would say you could get away with just picking up one. Especially if your kids are two or older, get the preschooler's one. In any case, we've been having loads of fun and are really looking forward to summer so we can try out a bunch of the outdoor activities too.

This is such a handy book to have around when you're stuck around the house with antsy kids. Lots and lots of fun activities and projects to do using ordinary household supplies. One of our favorites is to color cups of water with food coloring and let the kids go nuts mixing the colors with medicine droppers.

This is by far the best toddler/preschooler idea book I have ever come across. It has EVERYTHING in it, from recipes for homemade glue and gingerbread house frosting to crazy outdoor activities and fun ways to teach basic math and pre-reading.

This book is totally saving my sanity right now!! Lots of great ideas and classic ideas I'd forgotten about. Who knew playing with dry pasta or hiding the kitchen timer could be so fun? For only $10 it's a great investment.

Some of this book contains very good ideas. I had to laugh at one busy idea is set the table... well duh!
