Recommends it for: Definitely
Shelves: romance
This book had alot of twists and turns. The characters had to alter their personalities based on their various situations, but never detered from their true selves. If you like a lot of angles, then this is the historical romance for you.
The Bride's Necklace has a "Cinderella-like" premise to it. Gently-reared sisters, Victoria and Claire Temple Whiting are in dire straits and running away from a lecherous stepfather. The slipper is a pearl and diamond necklace, dubbed the Bride's Necklace which is said to be cursed. If the beholder has a pure heart, he or she will experience happiness and good fortune, whereas those with a cruel heart will find tragedy. For Tory it is their means of escape, and escape they do in the dark of nig ...more
This is the first book of the trilogy about the bride’s necklace and is a lovely story which deserves more than 5 stars.

Fashioned in the 13th century by Lord Fallon for his bride, tragedy struck before the wedding took place. The groom was killed and the bride threw herself off a castle parapet when she learned of his death. Rumors have followed the necklace through the centuries with its owners. It is rumored that the necklace can bring untold happiness or unbearable tragedy to its owner depen
Yazarın sürekli her cümlede istisnasız karakterlerin isimlerini tekrarlaması beni bunalttı. Her cümle başında, sonunda veya ortasında Tory ve Cord'u okurken yoruldum, gözlerim bitap düştü resmen. Karakterlerin aralarındaki o şey her ...more

Lately it's been rare that I find a book where I simply must know what happens next. After I started reading this book this morning, I could not get it off my mind and so around 3 pm, I decided to stop fighting it and I turned on Nancy again and began to read.

Cora and Victoria's story was really interesting and they met in interesting circumstances. I also liked that Claire, Victoria's younger sister, got her happy ending. Though this book is the first in the series, I accidentally read the last

I loved it! I hadn't read an historical in awhile and I ate this up in just under two days. The sex scenes were well-written and I could feel both the sexual tension and the emerging feelings of love between the hero and heroine. And at the conflict... I found myself crying. I haven't cried while reading a book in a long time. For me, that's always a good sign if I care so much about the characters that I cry. I can't wait to read the next books in this series.
Necklace Trilogy #1
Cordell & Victoria (Tory)
Victoria cannot support herself & her sister alone, so she steals a family necklace to pay for passage to London. Upon arrival in London, she becomes a household servant to the Earl of Brant (Cordell) who is known to be scandalous). Opposites attract and they fall in love and he assists her in becoming free of her oppressive father.
First in a series by this author whose work I have enjoyed in the past. Here too, a good story.

I really enjoyed this series!
The biggest kiss of death for me was the fact that by halfway through I had no interest in the characters anymore. But my other issue with it was that I felt like it had way too much going on: there's the seduction of the comely young housekeeper story, the running away from the creepy uncle story, the sister's story, the rescue the cousin story, the post-marriage drama story . . . and probably others I've forgotten at this point. It was like every time one problem was resolved the author had to ...more
Hmm, a trilogy? Okay, why not.

I was in the mood for some good ol' historical romance/sex/literary candy. Kat Martin doesn't disappoint. The plotlines are trite, but she can write a decent sex scene.
Not in the same league as Julie Garwood or Judith McNaught, but a good solid, sexy, historical romance. I especially liked that the Tori and Cord had to work really hard for their HEA.
This book was amazing! The perfect form of a little bit of everything, I have this one as a keeper on my shelve, read it more than once.
Good read, despite the hero and heroine having some 'too stupid to live' moments. I look forward to the next book in the series.
A great book with a few storylines, one of which travels through out the series.

The 1st book in the Necklace Trilogy.

A great trilogy to read. The Bride's Necklace, The Devil's Necklace and The Handmaiden's Necklace
It's the first trilogy of Necklace. It's good but not as good as the Handmaiden's Necklace.

It was pretty good and I am thinking of getting the one that comes after it.
